Well, things WERE slowing down in Disney World for a second there, but it seems Disney has decided to kick things up a notch again!

Are we devastated that we found out one of our favorite Disney Springs restaurants will soon be closing? Yes, but we’re also relieved that a popular mode of transportation also finally reopened at a Disney World hotel this past week, so again, it’s all about balance.

Tomorrowland Is About to Change FOREVER. Here Are the Disney Rides We May LOSE

The 2026 D23 Ultimate Fan Event was chock-full of major Disney theme park announcements, ranging from details on major projects and prospective opening timelines to shock teaser announcements that fans have waited years for. One of those teasers was for the long-awaited redo of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, which has long been afflicted by the “Tomorrowland Problem” of a futuristic land quickly becoming outdated.

However, while that announcement was predictably well received, there was little detail on what the new Tomorrowland will specifically entail, and how much is changing. That’s gotten us wondering just how many of Tomorrowland’s older rides, attractions, and structures are going to survive into Disney’s latest take on the future.

When Will Everest CLOSE in Disney World? We Have a CLUE

Disney made a litany of announcements at the 2026 D23 Ultimate Fan Event, revealing new details on upcoming theme lands, a new class of Disney Cruise Line ships, and even some major surprises. However, few could be described as more “long-awaited” than the confirmation that the Yeti on  Expedition Everest was FINALLY going to be fixed.

When the Animal Kingdom coaster first opened in 2006, the Yeti animatronic was hailed as the largest and most advanced Disney had ever built. The massive free-moving animatronic Yeti in the center of the “Forbidden Mountain” was one of the ride’s main promotional points teased in commercials and being discussed in Travel Channel documentaries. However, within months of opening, the Yeti was stuck in B-Mode. The animatronic was unmoving, with strobe lights pulsating to give the illusion of movement, hence the nom de plume “Disco Yeti”). This was allegedly due to structural damage the powerful animatronic was doing to the mountain when fully operational over the years. Disney officials, including Joe Rohde himself, made numerous claims that the Yeti was going to be fixed, but nothing came of them officially… until NOW!

Why We’re RUNNING To Disney’s Yacht Club For Dinner Tonight

When we’re at EPCOT, we love walking over to the Yacht Club for great coastal food and stunning water views. Seriously, what’s better than a yummy dinner followed by a sunset over Crescent Lake?

We know you probably groaned a bit reading the title, considering there are already so many closures around Disney World right now, but yes, another one is being added to the list.

Disney World is currently in the midst of some pretty massive construction projects all over the resort. While some of the biggest projects are in the parks, there are numerous projects happening around the Disney World hotels as well. At some, it’s cosmetic work, making the hotel look as beautiful as can be, but at others, there are closures taking place to allow for refurbishments. Why I’m Avoiding Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Until November

Since its opening a quarter century ago, the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney World’s only hotel directly themed to one of its theme parks, has been one of the most popular resorts thanks to the Deluxe Tier accommodations, the live animals that graze in the resort’s savannas, and some of the best dining on property.
