Although the resorts were relatively empty when we visited, we still noticed a lot of changes put in place around the hotels. Since this is an unprecedented situation, Disney is looking to continue making every experience better and safer for guests visiting Disney World.
There are already a bunch of interesting changes we’ve noticed today, but now it’s time to take a look at what’s different about our hotel rooms! Here’s a first look inside one of Disney World’s newly reopened hotel rooms!
Select Disney World Resort hotels are set to reopen to guests TOMORROW, June 22nd. And now we finally have MORE hotel reopening dates! So if you have a Disney resort hotel reservation at one of those hotels that have been in limbo, we’ve got answers for a few of you!
Here’s the full list of confirmed Disney World Resort hotel reopening dates!
Greetings from Disney’s Contemporary Resort! We’re stopping by this classic Disney World Resort hotel to share with you some of our favorite eats and drinks! The Contemporary is a Deluxe Resort, which means that they’re going to be offering TONS of food options, from Signature Restaurants to Character Dining to Quick Service.
The Contemporary is also on the Monorail loop (literally — the Monorail runs THROUGH the hotel!), making it super easy to dine at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as well as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
And, of course, this also means it’s a quick ride (and walk!) to Magic Kingdom. Let’s take a closer look at what dining options the Contemporary has to offer!
Times right now are a little hectic as we’re all staying at home and…not going to Disney World. Since the Disney Parks around the world are closed and the Disney Cruise Line is canceling sailings, we’ve honestly just been comforting ourselves by watching a LOT of Disney+ and doing some Disney stress-baking.
With everything happening, it’s pretty important to take a deep breath and find a moment to relax. And, we might just have the PERFECT way to center yourself and find your zen while you visit Disney World (virtually, of course!).
The Wave…of American Flavors
UPDATE: Since posting this, we have gotten word that this beer tasting is only for guest staying at the Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Towers. We’d heard differently from a Contemporary CM before printing, but this word is directly from the manager at the restaurant. Sorry folks!
In a recent comment, reader Bill M. (thanks, Bill!!) told us about a Beer Tasting that happens every Saturday at Disney’s Contemporary Resort! I made some phone calls to find out the deets, and we’ve got ’em right here!
Visit The Wave’s lounge to sample complimentary beer each Saturday, from 3-4 p.m.. Three certified organic beers by Orlando Brewing Company are provided, making this a great stop on your monorail crawl.
Don’t like beer? While your friends are sipping complimentary brew, order a screw-top wine (ya gotta pay for it, though).
While this activity is advertised in the Disney’s Contemporary Resort (and Bay Lake Tower) Recreation Activities Guide, you do not need to be a guest of the resort to participate. Of course, the beer tasting is only open to [Read more…]
Thanks to Christopher Ripley of The English Disney Blog for putting together this great review of the new Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower in Walt Disney World!

The lounge opens at 5pm daily for the exclusive use of DVC members staying at the tower using their DVC points. Apart from members staying in the grand villas on the sixteenth floor, all other members must access the lounge via [Read more…]
