Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is located closest to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, and therefore is closest to Magic Kingdom park. We’ve been keeping a close eye on construction for the past few months, but now it’s finally time to start planning our stay.
Over the last few months, Disney has been releasing more information on Lakeshore Lodge, the NEW Disney World Resort scheduled to open next summer.

Over the last several months, Disney has been revealing details about the upcoming Lakeshore Lodge — the brand new resort opening at Disney World next year — including details on its pool and water recreation area, lobby, and dining. Now, they’ve dropped some further… *ahem* explosive information!

Disney has confirmed that a BRAND NEW spot to watch the Magic Kingdom’s iconic nighttime fireworks spectaculars is coming to the new resort!

This massive D23 Expo only happens every other year. The big weekend took place in Anaheim, California, and Disney shared MAJOR theme park news, company announcements, and entertainment updates from all aspects of the company. During one of Disney’s biggest events from the weekend — the Disney Experiences Showcase (which features news about Disney’s upcoming attractions and theme park news) — we noticed some major news that was missing! This resort is set to open in summer 2027 and is going to be a Disney Vacation Club property on the edge of Bay Lake, near Magic Kingdom. It’s themed to combine Disney magic with nature, and so far, the concept art we’ve seen is STUNNING. But with the latest batch of updates, it looks like something has changed with the hotel lobby.

This new hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2027, though no official opening date has been announced yet. It’ll be a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) hotel closest to Magic Kingdom, and will “celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers.” We’ve been anxiously awaiting more news about the hotel, and now we’ve got NEW concept art to get excited about!
