food IS a theme park
The Disney rumor mill is pretty much always swirling.
Tower of Terror under construction
Folks want to know what’s going on behind construction walls, what the “tea” is with all their favorite actors and upcoming films, and of course, if there are any big upcoming changes or announcements to prepare for. We often see rumors pop up online before official announcements are made, and today we’re breaking down some of the common rumors we’ve seen this week!
We’ll have to admit that Galactic Starcruiser was a pretty interesting experiment on Disney’s part to create an immersive Star Wars environment where guests could roleplay out their Star Wars dreams. However, the hotel was pricey, and at the end of the day, Disney admitted that “it didn’t perform” and subsequently closed it just a little over a year after it opened.

However, Disney didn’t want the building go to waste, so it decided to use what had already been built to create new office space for Walt Disney Imagineering. We’ve previously seen signs of construction at the closed hotel’s site, and we’ve seen permits filed for work in the area. Well, now Disney has filed a new permit for the location.
Whoa, woah, whoa, Disney, can you PLEASE explain what was happening at Andy’s Backyard this morning??
Toy Story Land!
When we visited Hollywood Studios this morning, it looked like Toy Story Land was in pure CHAOS, so let’s try to figure out exactly what was happening with Andy’s toys. [Read more…]
With (almost) every Disney World land, character, and attraction come souvenirs — apparel, accessories, collectibles, stuffies; You name it, they’ve got it! And a lot more souvenirs are on their way with the opening of several new areas next year, including Monstropolis, the new Monsters, Inc-themed land coming to Hollywood Studios.

Since the announcement, Disney has dropped quite a bit of concept art for the land, and we spotted what looks like their next best souvenir in a recent piece! Let’s check it out!
We did not think we could get any more excited for the classiest Holiday event of the year until Disney World went ahead and confirmed two BRAND-NEW characters!
Mike Wazowski
That’s right, Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have two all-new characters this year, both from the world of Monsters, Inc.
Okay, we LOVE to meet characters in Disney World, and it’s one of our favorite things we can experience in the parks. The cool thing, too, is that most characters have a set meet-and-greet spot, so you can just find them there at the times listed in the My Disney Experience app. SO easy.

However, sometimes, those meet and greet spaces move due to construction, logistics, or something else. So that’s why we’re warning you about one character meet and greet in Disney’s Hollywood Studios because it’s moving soon.
I have visited Disney World hundreds of times, but only recently did I realize I had been making one BIG mistake at EPCOT.
EPCOT Bus
Confession time: I thought I had Disney World transportation figured out. I’ve ridden the buses, boats, and Skyliner gondolas more times than I can count. But with a transportation system this big, it’s easy to fall into a habit that’s not actually saving you any time. And it turns out I’ve been taking the WRONG bus to EPCOT for years.
Y’all, we hate to break it to you, but the rumors are not true.
Tower of Terror
You might have seen rumors floating around that Mark Silverman, the voice of Rod Sterling in Disney World’s Tower of Terror, is back at Walt Disney Imagineering working on something. But he’s back for reasons we weren’t hoping for.
RAWR! Monstropolis opens in Hollywood Studios in 2026, so I’m practicing my monster speech to fit right into the city. Don’t worry, I heard there will be translators too. I have dreamed of walking into the world of Monsters, Inc., and the time is almost here, so we’re grabbing our hard hats and helping Disney get it going!
Monstropolis Entrance
While most of Monstropolis in 2027 is ready, the hanging door roller coaster will take a bit longer. We got the latest update on the roller coaster, and it’s looking SO good!
Fall break is alive and well in Disney World, which is a time of year many people forget about, then wonder why in the world there’s a random 3-4 weeks in between the end of summer and Thanksgiving week that are absolutely bonkers. Yep, that’s why.
Crowds in Magic Kingdom
It’s also hard to track when exactly fall breaks will cause high crowds, since they land in different weeks for various schools. This does mean the crowds are a bit more spread out, rather than arriving all at once, but it still means Disney World becomes more intense than many people expect it to be for early October. But other than being shoulder to shoulder with thousands of your closest strangers, what else can you expect from Disney World this week? The answer? A LOT.
