It’s been quite the week in Disney World, with the reopening of a major ride over in Magic Kingdom (that’s had some rough days following — we hope it sorts itself out soon), but Disney Springs has also seen lots of changes this week.
Disney Springs
If you’re heading to Disney World soon and plan to do lots of shopping around Disney Springs, you may notice that some of your favorite stores have closed their doors, some of them a bit unexpectedly. In addition to all the other changes going on around the resort, we feel it’s important to keep up-to-date with it all!
We’ve got massive news out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which sounds like something we say basically once a week, but that’s because it’s TRUE!

There are multiple construction projects happening in the park right now (well, there are dozens all over Disney World as a whole), and so that means that every week, it feels like at least one of them takes a big step forward. In this case, it’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, which opens its doors in just a few short weeks. Something new is on the iconic guitar, and it’s got us VERY excited!
A LOT is going on in Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now. Not only is a brand new Monsters, Inc. land being built, but Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is getting a Muppets makeover, and Animation Courtyard is being reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios.

Now, work on all three projects is coming right along, but we have a HUGE update to share about two of these projects: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets and The Walt Disney Studios. So let’s see what’s changed!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park is in a state of transformation, with massive projects under construction on both sides of the park: Monsters, Inc. Land on the park’s western edge and the new Walt Disney Studios Lot in the former Animation Courtyard area.

Both of these projects are reusing or replacing buildings that date back to the park’s original Disney-MGM Studios days, meaning that they are nearly 40 years old at this point.
It’s time to play the music! It’s time to light the lights. It’s time to meet the Muppets on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster tonight!

Well, not tonight, but very soon. Hollywood Studios has announced Annual Passholder previews for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and we’re about to jump out of a cannon like Gonzo and start this party!
