“A Warehouse of Good Eating” is the motto at Backlot Express, which is themed as a production warehouse and is therefore positively packed with unique props, paints, and more!
Backlot Express offers classic counter service entrees: you’ll find burgers, sandwiches, and salads on the menu. And, even though most Star Wars food items are found in Galaxy’s Edge these days, you’ll often spot a fun Star Wars-themed treat or two up for grabs.
Seating for this quick service restaurant is plentiful, with shelter from the sun and inclement weather via a large overhead warehouse roof. However, this is a popular eatery and can often get crowded inside. A lot of guests aren’t aware of the pleasant, covered outdoor seating area, which also provides plenty of shaded seating.
It’s well worth taking a look around to scope out all the little details tucked in the backlot, no matter where you enjoy your meal!

Dine at Backlot Express if:
You want to cater to picky eaters without leaving adventurous eaters in the dust. Welcome back to the land of burgers and chicken tenders! Backlot Express is a GREAT spot for those who want to keep their dining familiar and comforting. That being said, you should still be able to find a few more, less-than-average, fast-food-style options on this menu, as well — including things like Teriyaki bowls, Cuban sandwiches, etc.
You want a quick service atmosphere that’s a little more engaging than ABC Commissary’s. The bar’s not set very high, I suppose, but Backlot Express’ Production Warehouse is fun to get up and go explore — just to see all the unique props, paint, notes, and blueprints.
Galaxy’s Edge is packed, and this is the next best thing. Not only does Backlot Express usually have some sort of Star Wars-themed goodie available on their menu (including the Wookie Cookie that’s been around for ages), but this quick service will also keep you close to Star Tours (which tends to be the least busy Star Wars attraction of the park). Quick eats AND quick Star Wars entertainment, side by side? Yeah, sign us up!
Skip Backlot Express if:
You’re not seeing what all the fuss is about. I get it. Not everyone is going to be as thrilled as we are about dunking classic chicken tenders into melty cheese sauce. Backlot Express has good eats that we’ve really grown to love and rely on with time, but don’t come here expecting the most memorable Disney entrees known to man.
Your kid isn’t impressed. Your kids might like the food here. But the atmosphere? Ehh… Chances are they won’t be as entertained by the dripping paint cans and fake medicine cabinets as you might be.
Things are getting a little too people-y. There are a LOT of seats and tables in Backlot Express — but that just means this place can get a whole lot more packed out with all the people than some of the other restaurants onsite. Especially during peak lunch and dinner times. So if you’re tired of constant crowds, you might be better off with a grab-and-go option — like Woody’s Lunch Box or Ronto Roasters.
