If there’s one thing we love more than a great cookie, it’s a great cookie sandwich!
From the beloved Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich from Karamell-Kuche in EPCOT, to the Raspberry Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich from L’Artisan des Glaces, slap some creamy frosting or ice cream between two (excellent) cookies, and we’re all in. We spotted a new look for an old favorite cookie sandwich earlier this week in Disney World, so we decided to give it a try!
The Wookiee Cookie is available at Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is two oatmeal cookies, sandwiched with a vanilla cream filling, and garnished with a chocolate piece made to look like Chewbacca’s sash.
Last week, we noticed that the cookies seemed to be thicker than they were before! And we found the cookies to be a bit TOO thick in our taste test. While we preferred the thinner version of cookies available previously, we enjoyed the new version’s soft, chewy texture. The vanilla cream in the center had a velvety texture, and while we expected it to be overwhelmingly sweet, it wasn’t.
Our reviewer said that the amount of filling in the middle was perfect for the size of this ‘Star Wars’-themed treat. The chocolate sash garnish on top did melt quickly in the Florida summer heat, which made for a messy snack – grab some napkins!
This is a BIG snack that’s easily split between two adults for a sweet treat. If you love oatmeal creme pies, this is definitely an elevated version you should try on your next Disney World trip.
If oatmeal cookies aren’t your thing, head over to the Trolley Car Cafe in Hollywood Studios for another one of our favorite snacks — the Carrot Cake Cookie! Or check out our ranking of all the ice cream spots in Disney World if you’d rather skip cookies altogether.

My daughter and I just returned from a vacation at Disney World. We were looking forward to trying the much hyped Wookie Cookie. What a disappointment! The cookie we were served tasted nothing like an oatmeal sandwich cookie. In fact the cookie had no taste at all. In addition, it made both of us sick. I most definitely would not recommend this cookie. It was the worst food experience of our week long stay.
