This is a tale of two cookies. One is chewy. Both are sweet. One’s been around for a hot minute. The other one’s been around so long, it’s become the stuff of Hollywood Studios legend!
But if you could only enjoy one, which ONE should you choose? We don’t want you leaving Disney World with cookie FOMO, after all! That would be too depressing!
At the root of this EPIC snack smackdown (unfolding right before your very eyes!) is a cookie newcomer about to go up against a Disney World reigning champ! This classic is known as the Carrot Cake Cookie (or CCC if you’re hip to the cookie lingo). And while CCC has moved around quite a bit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it’s been here for years!
The CCC’s cream cheese frosting to cookie ratio can vary from day to day (the original CCC DIDN’T play in the filling department). Meanwhile, the cookies themselves are more cakey than cookie-like. Despite its permutations, the Carrot Cake Cookie has managed to remain a super moist cookie sandwich with just a little bit of spice that eats more like a whoopie pie — and we LOVE it!
But as of December 2019, a new challenger has entered the ring! Introducing the Wookiee Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich! This one features two oatmeal cookies, sandwiched together with a fluffy whoopie-pie cream filling, topped off with a chocolate bar designed to look like Chewbacca’s bandolier!
The oatmeal cookies are so soft, they’re almost like eating oatmeal cookie dough! Maybe raw dough doesn’t sound that appealing to some of you, but others will totally understand what we’re talking about!
And while we’re all about the actual Wookiee Oatmeal Cookies themselves (as it turns out –Chewie is quite the COOKIE MONSTER, who knew?) the filling of the sandwich is the biggest letdown.
It’s a little too sweet and fluffy to stack up to that much oatmeal cookie goodness. In a perfect world, we would actually scrape the filling out of the Wookiee Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich and replace it with the Carrot Cakecream cheese icing!
In the end, you have to ask yourself what kind of cookie person are you? Are you a true cream cheese frosting devotee or do you love oatmeal cookies enough to see past the inferior filling? Or just live dangerously and get BOTH! You could even eat them SIMULTANEOUSLY! That’s why we got TWO hands, right?
Head to Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios to pick up the Wookiee Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich for $5.99 or Trolley Car Cafe to get the Carrot Cake Cookie for $3.99!
