Disney just dropped a mountain of new information about the Indiana Jones attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including its official name, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, a MUCH clearer explanation of the story, a first look at its enormous supernatural villain, and one very important update about the Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronic.
Disney recently dropped a TON of announcements about the new Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Animal Kingdom at D23, and we’re even more excited than we already were!

We officially now know that the Encanto dark ride will be called Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and the carousel will be called El Carrusel de los Animalitos. Not only that, but the Indiana Jones ride is officially called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. When Disney first announced this new land, many thought it would also feature live animals from the region, but a former Imagineer says that may not be the case.
A new Indiana Jones ride is replacing DINOSAUR in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While Disney has already announced that this will be a brand-new ride and story, we haven’t received many more details than that.

There is already an Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland Park which has an almost identical ride system and track to DINOSAUR at Disney World. However, Disney promised that the ride would not be an exact copy in Disney World, and we just got MORE details about what to expect with the DINOSAUR retheme in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Tons of changes are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, most notably the creation of Pueblo Esperanza where DinoLand U.S.A. used to be. We’ve been watching construction closely, but now, thanks to a sneak peek at the Disney Imagineers: Horizons exhibit at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we’ve got a sneak peek at the three attractions coming to the new land!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
If there’s one thing we’ve learned over decades of visiting the parks, it’s that things are constantly changing around Disney World! Sometimes we can get hints about upcoming changes based on permits that are filed for construction work around the resort. And we recently spotted a construction permit with an interesting code name that we can’t stop thinking about!
In case you missed it, DinoLand USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is under construction to become a newly reimagined Tropical Americas land! This change will bring three brand-new rides, along with a new quick-service restaurant that will be the largest on Disney property.

Disney has been hard at work building the new land. But it’s not all done, because Disney just filed a permit for the new Indiana Jones ride!
It is a sea of construction in Disney World these days, especially over in Hollywood Studios!

Hollywood Studios currently has several projects going on, like the new Walt Disney Studios Land, Monstropolis, and the secretive Project Fedora. Disney’s newest permit now has us raising our eyebrows and begging for new details!

Permits are one of those sneaky things that Disney World likes to publish, giving us a small idea of what could be happening in the parks. It gives us a look at when work will start on projects that have already been announced, but Disney hasn’t told us what’s happening in the area. They did drop a code name that has us questioning EVERYTHING!
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that when Pueblo Esperanza opens in Animal Kingdom, I will be sitting there in my Encanto ears wearing an Indiana Jones t-shirt, waiting to experience the land myself. While I loved DinoLand U.S.A. as if it were part of the family, something newer is on the horizon.
The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones.
DINOSAUR is being rethemed to Indiana Jones, using the same ride mechanism but with new scenes (and even different scenes than the Disneyland version), and Disney just filed new permits for the attraction as they get closer to changing over the ride and opening the Tropical Americas land!
You’ll never totally avoid crowds at Disney World, but some kinds of crowding are just straight up RIDICULOUS.
A busy day in Hollywood Studios
Is common courtesy dying at the Disney Parks? Maybe, but that’s a conversation for another day. However, there’s one trend happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that’s so annoying, we have no choice but to call it out. We’re, of course, talking about the “aisle lice” problem. Crowding at Hollywood Studios is bound to happen, but there is an unnecessary form of crowding called “aisle lice” that serves absolutely no purpose.
