D23 is giving us some closer insights into Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s major construction project, Pueblo Esperanza.

Disney shared more details about the attractions that will be in this land, including the Encanto Attraction, Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto. We also learned about the newest attraction that will be for everyone at Animal Kingdom!

Sneak peek at ‘Encanto’ ride!
Tons of changes are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, most notably the creation of Pueblo Esperanza where DinoLand U.S.A. used to be. We’ve been watching construction closely, but now, thanks to a sneak peek at the Disney Imagineers: Horizons exhibit at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we’ve got a sneak peek at the three attractions coming to the new land!
We’re so excited to finally have an Encanto-themed attraction coming to Disney World, though we’ve still got many months to go before its planned debut in 2027.

The new ride, based on the family’s Casita, will be in the new Tropical Americas land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is currently under construction at the former home of DinoLand, U.S.A. While we’re still waiting for an official opening date, we’re watching construction closely, but thanks to Instagram, we’ve got an update on what’s happening with the attraction OUTSIDE of the park!
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that when Pueblo Esperanza opens in Animal Kingdom, I will be sitting there in my Encanto ears wearing an Indiana Jones t-shirt, waiting to experience the land myself. While I loved DinoLand U.S.A. as if it were part of the family, something newer is on the horizon.
The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones.
DINOSAUR is being rethemed to Indiana Jones, using the same ride mechanism but with new scenes (and even different scenes than the Disneyland version), and Disney just filed new permits for the attraction as they get closer to changing over the ride and opening the Tropical Americas land!
We’ve got very exciting news out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom! With so much construction happening around the park, any bit of news that means those projects are moving along is a fist-pump moment in our eyes.

We know we’ve got a long way to go still until the new Casita ride, inspired by Encanto, opens in Pueblo Esperanza, but we’re enjoying seeing what’s going on behind the walls, thanks to the aerial views from @bioreconstruct. Now, though, we’ve got another piece of evidence that shows us construction is continuing to move along — a new permit has been filed!
Something HUGE is happening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but we bet you already knew that. We’ve been following the construction of Pueblo Esperanza, a new Tropical Americas-themed land, since DinoLand U.S.A. started closing in phases, but now that ALL of DinoLand has closed (Goodbye, DINOSAUR), work on the new land is taking a huge step forward.

The one thing we’re most excited about is the Encanto ride, which will bring the Casita from the film to real life! Inside, there will be a cool ride themed around the movie…and we can hardly wait. In the meantime, though, we keep checking construction at the site of the new land, and construction on the ride is coming right along.
Today is a sad day at Disney World. DinoLand U.S.A. is officially closing, and today marks the last day to experience the land.
DINOSAUR
It’s been slowly closing in phases, so we’ve already said goodbye to other experiences such as TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures (which I’m still not over), The Boneyard, Trilo-Bites, and Dino-Bite Snacks, but it doesn’t make it any less hard to officially say goodbye. This new area will feature attractions where you’ll explore a temple alongside Indiana Jones and tour the Magdrigal’s house from Encanto. Jeff Vahle, the President of Walt Disney World, took to Instagram today and posted an update on the expansion called Pueblo Esperanza, which brought up all the feels. Cast members across Animal Kingdom have signed a steel beam that will be inside the new Encanto ride! Here’s the Disney history behind this special moment and everything you need to know about the new ride.
Rides based on Disney’s animated films have been part of Disney’s theme parks from the very beginning, as attractions based on Peter Pan, Snow White, and Mr. Toad anchored Disneyland’s Fantasyland when the park opened in 1955. Over the last 7 decades, films from across the Disney and Pixar canon have been immortalized at resorts around the world.

That said, to the chagrin of some fans, not every animated classic has gotten the ride treatment. Whether box office results scuttled plans — RIP Atlantis: The Lost Empire-themed Submarine Voyage refurbishment — or a film’s pop culture influence seemed to wane, many entries in the library have seemingly been skipped over. That said, fans shouldn’t fret, as recent events tell us that any Disney or Pixar animated film still has a chance of becoming a ride…
I’m not trying to be dramatic, but when Disney announced an Encanto-themed ride was coming to Animal Kingdom, I cried. The movie means everything to me, and to enter their magical world and go inside Castia feels like a dream come true.
