Imagine you’re the CEO of The Walt Disney Company. You’ve got a lot on your plate. There’s the ever-precarious state of Disney+, which gains and loses subscribers on a quarterly basis. There’s the Parks and Experiences division, with rising costs and a passionate fanbase. And then there’s your competition, who is building a brand-new theme park in your backyard, and no one will let you forget it. They don’t pay you the big bucks for nothing!

But since you’re an excellent CEO, you put on a brave face and try your best to give the people what they want. What do the people want? An answer to Epic Universe. A place for the Disney Villains. New attractions that are innovative yet nostalgic yet creative yet timeless. Easy, right? At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney did its best to cater to fans. They unveiled a Monsters, INC. coaster that fans have been talking about for years. They announced a new nighttime parade to assuage the live entertainment fans. They even confirmed that a Villains Land will, in fact, be built “beyond Big Thunder Mountain” in Magic Kingdom. But despite the news, fans were quick to voice their concerns. Is it fair to judge so soon?

We were blown away with all the updates and brand new announcements that we got on future films, the things coming to the theme parks, and Disney Cruise Line! Even though we definitely got more than we thought was coming, there one specific thing we didn’t get ANY information about! So let’s talk about it!
If there’s one thing we know, it’s that being a Disney fan ain’t cheap!

We’ve spent the big bucks on everything from vacations to Disney+ to merchandise to movie tickets in the past, and we’re probably not stopping anytime soon. But if you’re going to be a Disney fan in 2027, there’s one weirdly specific reason why you might be shelling out extra cash!

At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past weekend, we got to see tons of new merchandise (lots of which has hit the online Disney Store already), see loads of Disney Imagineers and icons, and of course, we heard TONS of HUGE news about what’s coming to Disney parks in the next few years. In case you missed it, here are the SEVEN (!!!) new rides coming to Disney World!
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was filled with TONS of excitement, we still can’t believe some of the news!
Monsters Inc. roller coaster
There are so many new attractions coming to Disney World and Disneyland, as well as the international parks, and one of the largest announcements was that a new Monsters Inc. land is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! But here’s the thing — Hollywood Studios isn’t THAT big of a park (as it stands, it’s the second smallest next to Magic Kingdom), so it’s extremely likely that this new land will take the place of an existing attraction in the park. And Muppets fans, we need to warn you that it could be very bad news for Muppets Courtyard.
There is A LOT to look forward to in the coming years for the Disney parks!
Magic Kingdom is expanding!
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event we got so many announcements about what will be coming to Disney parks around the world. In particular, Magic Kingdom is getting some love with two new lands. However, there is something we are already not looking forward to.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event has officially come to a close, and WOW was it a wild weekend!

We got to hear tons of news about all the exciting attractions coming to Disney parks in the coming years, find out that there’s 4 (!!!) new Disney Cruise Line ships on the way, and so, SO much more. But in between all the panels and booths we experienced, we got to see some truly incredible Disney costumes that we couldn’t get enough of!
Disney’s major fan event just wrapped up, and we were left with a LOT of big announcements!

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event took place in Anaheim, CA, and it was basically an entire weekend filled with Disney news. We got updates on future films, announcements about Disney Cruise Line, and of course, plenty of big reveals about things coming to the theme parks. But through all that news, there were some things that we didn’t get ANY information about! So here are the announcements that were missing from D23.

Disney Legends Ceremony
We are so grateful to have been a part of it all. We finished off the weekend by attending the Disney Legends ceremony on Sunday evening, and it was a beautiful celebration of some fantastic people.
