As part of the D23 Ultimate Fan Event in August of 2024, Disney inducted its latest class of Legends. Among Hollywood heavyweights like Harrison Ford, Jamie Lee Curtis, James L. Brooks, and composer John Williams, Disney Imagineering icon Joe Rohde officially took his rightful place amongst the Disney pantheon.Â
Pretty sure y’all have been waiting for this one…because I definitely have!! You might discount Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but I am here to tell you that YOU SHOULD NOT. This park is magical, y’all, and I’m going to prove it to you today!
Animal Kingdom
I’ve always known that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is amazing, stupendous, incredible, insert-other-great-adjectives here. But now, I wanna make sure YOU know it, too! While many folks tend to write this park off as a half-day-er (which can be understandable, since it has fewer attractions than its three older sibling parks), you can EASILY fill a full day here, just by tracking down the AWESOME things we’re gonna talk about today!

We were recently able to get a special glimpse inside Walt Disney’s very own office!

Even though Walt Disney passed away back in December of 1966, his private office has been lovingly restored and maintained by the dutiful staff of the Walt DisneyArchives. Each detail has been meticulously maintained to achieve historical accuracy, ands give a glimpse into how Walt and his original Imagineers worked during the early golden age of Disney park development.
We often dream about what it would be like to be Disney Imagineers.

Being able to come up with the latest attractions, restaurants, lands, technology, and more is no doubt something to celebrate, but we love celebrating it from the fan side of things just as much! Imagineers are always looking to the future and creating the most innovative ways to bring Disney to life, and we had the lucky opportunity to see some of that new technology firsthand — come with us!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World
Thanks to an exclusive invite from Disney to tour Walt Disney Imagineering, we just got an in-person look at the new Tiana animatronic (along with some of the OTHER, never-before-seen character animatronics) that will be coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when the new ride opens in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland later this year!
Many Disney fans spend a lot of time watching for new titles coming to Disney+. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film just had a HUGE premiere on Disney+ last month.

And on April 3rd, Disney’s latest animated film, Wish, became available for streaming! But Disney just announced a NEW series that you might love — and you’ll need to find it on a different platform.

From Walt Disney himself to Mary Blair to the “Nine Old Men,” the early years of the company were filled with many important contributors. But even in modern times, there are some executives, creatives, and Imagineers who will go down in history. One of those people is Joe Rohde…and he’s returning to Walt Disney Imagineering for a limited time!
One of our favorite things about the Disney Parks is the amount of thought and detail that goes into the park theming and decor.
Partners Statue
Throughout each of the Disney Parks, there are small tributes to Walt Disney himself — and, of course, the Mouse that started it all. Statues of Walt and Mickey can be found at a few of the Disney Parks, like the “Partners” Statue that can be found in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Now, Disney has shared a first look at an all-new statue that’s coming soon to a Disney Park.

As you may already know, Hong Kong Disneyland is in the process of creating the first out of three Frozen-themed lands in Disney Parks around the world: World of Frozen. The land will include a restaurant, multiple merchandise outlets, meet-and-greet experiences, and even a few attractions — including the world’s first Frozen-themed coaster. Disney is constantly developing new technology to use in the theme parks.
It’s HULK!
Sometimes it’s things like My Disney Experience and Disney Genie+ that you can access on your phone, but other times it’s impressive new ride systems or animatronics that look so realistic it’s hard to believe they’re fake (we’re looking at you — Na’vi River Journey Shaman of Song!). But even with all the interesting things we’ve seen so far, Disney isn’t stopping yet!
