For better or worse, Disney World is always changing. That’s clear to anyone visiting right now, as massive projects like Piston Peak, Monstropolis, and Tropical Americas dominate the landscape. However, Disney’s not done.

It’s been a bit of a rocky world when it comes to Disney and AI, especially after Disney pulled out of their deal with OpenAI following the company’s shutdown of Sora.

The deal between Disney and OpenAI included a $1 billion investment in OpenAI, but now that that has fallen through, Disney has been thinking of other ways to make use of AI regarding their IP. Now, there’s been an update in the saga, as Disney has begun using Adobe’s Firefly Foundry, which is the commercial version of Adobe’s AI model.

We Can’t Believe These NEW Photos of Disney World’s Abandoned ‘Star Wars’ Hotel

We’ve covered some pretty wild Disney World news in the past several years, but one of the most bizarre and interesting events was the grand opening — followed shortly by the unceremonious closure — of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

A room on Halcyon!

This hotel was as short-lived as it was fascinating. A unique experience where you could board a Star Wars ship for yourself and live out your own adventure with characters, missions, and space food. We were lucky enough to visit it multiple times during its short reign, and that just made its closure all the more disappointing. But thanks to Instagram, we’ve got a peek at what the building looks like now!

Update On 2 New Lands Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Construction is ALL over in Disney World right now, but Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to TWO different massive land overhauls, which means lots of walls (and that’s not even counting the smaller construction projects happening around the park).

Muppets Courtyard behind walls (August 2025)

Muppets Courtyard is in the process of becoming Monsters Inc. Land, and Animation Courtyard is undergoing lots of changes to become the new Walt Disney Studios area. We’re beyond excited for what both of these projects will bring, but for right now, they’re behind walls, and we’re just getting slight glimpses whenever we can.
