There won’t be any whip-cracking or hat-saving over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today.
If you are in Hollywood Studios today, we have some bad news about one of the entertainment options.Â
We know it’s a huge bummer when a ride in Disney World is closed for updates or maintenance, especially if it’s one of your favorite rides.
However, this is how Disney maintains all the rides in the park, and that means we have to deal with rides being closed from time to time. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been closed since January, with a reopening timeline of summer 2024, and most recently, with indications that the coaster would reopen on July 27th. However, it looks like the ride will reopen WELL before that time!
Disney World dropped a lot of news on us this past week!
This past week we got lots of information about the holidays at Disney World during Halfway to the Holidays, and we also got information about new changes coming to Disney World’s paid skip-the-line service. It feels like we finally just got Genie+ down after saying goodbye to the FastPass+ system, but now that is all about to change again on July 24th.Â
Changes are coming! And big ones at that. Disney World recently announced some HUGE changes to their skip-the-line service, and we have all the details.
Just when we felt like we might have been getting the hang of Genie+, Disney World goes and changes things up again. While there are a few similarities to the current Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane services, the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass are also introducing a lot of changes.Â
There are a BUNCH of new updates at Disney’s Boardwalk!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
There are changes happening constantly around Disney World. Some are large, like a newly re-themed ride that’s opening later this week. However others can be small — things around the resort’s parks and hotels that some visitors might not even notice, and even the most seasoned Disney experts may only clock them after a few moments. Recently, we noticed several updates while strolling Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
Disney has been catching some heat for recent changes they’ve made, so is there ANYTHING they’ve done right lately?!
Lofty, “blue sky” plans have been replaced with cheaper, more generic ones, and don’t even get us started on the free FastPass and FastPass+ being replaced with Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes — a new, paid, skip-the-line service. With so much discontent sowing among Disney fans, we have to wonder: Has Disney done anything right these past few years?!
Disney likes to keep us on our toes regarding announcements for both the theme parks and entertainment. However, there is a special event coming up that almost always means we will be getting some exciting announcements about Disney’s future plans.
We never know what sort of plans Disney might announce during this event, but there are always a few things we are hoping to hear more about! And we are hoping for a very specific announcement this summer.Â
Yes, we say it EVERY TIME we talk about this ride, but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World is “Almost There.” You’ll just have to forgive all our The Princess and the Frog references.
Now that we have an opening date for the ride, as well as dates for early previews, we just can’t contain our excitement, and we always have to “Dig a Little Deeper” (we did it again) to see if we can find any new updates over at the ride’s construction site in Magic Kingdom. Well, we’ve got some BIG Tiana’s Bayou Adventure updates to share with you!
We just got more information about the future of ESPN and Disney’s new ESPN sports streaming service, and it includes a BIG change coming to Disney+ THIS YEAR.Â

Today is the 2024 Q2 Earnings Call meeting for The Walt Disney Company, and we are tuned into the webcast to make sure we don’t miss anything! Disney made some big announcements about its streaming service and ESPN, and we’re breaking down all the updates here.
It’s been over a year since Disneyland’s version of Fantasmic! closed after the Maleficent dragon erupted in fire. Although Disneyland added some temporary nighttime entertainment to take its place, we’ve been counting down the days until Fantasmic! reopens.
Well, eventually we got the news that Fantasmic! would open again on May 24th, which is coming up soon. Ahead of that, though, Disney just revealed some new details about the updated nighttime show.
