Construction is going on all around the resort thanks to the addition of new lands like Villains Land, Monstropolis, and Pueblo Esperanza. While these are examples of major projects, there are little changes going on all the time as well. For example, Disney World is changing BIG TIME next month! Carousel of Progress
Walt Diseny’s Carousel of Progress – – which has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, meaning it actually predates Disney World by over a decade – – is set to close for a major refurbishment that will shift nearly everything about the 60+ year old attraction.

The Carousel!
In 2025, Disney announced that Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress — the legendary animatronic stage show that has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair — would be getting a massive update. Initially, all that was confirmed was that the show would include a Walt Disney animatronic in the introduction, similar to the one seen on Disneyland’s Main Street. However, this spring Disney revealed that their plans were much grander than a simple pre-show.
If you’re heading to Animal Kingdom this July, there are some major changes you need to be prepared for. From new perks, a new ticket option, and BLUEY, Disney World’s newest theme park has a lot going on this summer.
Bluey has arrived!
Of course, the biggest thing to hit Animal Kingdom in 2026 is Bluey! The mega-popular pup and her family arrived in May as part of Bluey’s Wild World, a show at the park’s Conservation Station. The characters have drawn large crowds since they arrived and will likely continue to do so throughout the summer, including July.
If you’re going to Magic Kingdom soon, you might notice some differences.

Of course, the park has recently reopened two rides after major refurbishments, and there are some big construction projects going on in Frontierland and beyond, but there are quite a few little changes as well! Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The animatronic stage show initially followed a family through the technological advancements of the early 1900s through the mid-1900s, ending in a 1960s-vision of the near future. Following the Fair, the show was moved to Disneyland for about a decade before being shipped back across the country to Walt Disney World.
When we’re at EPCOT, we love visiting The Odyssey building. Where else can you find air conditioning, bathrooms with no line, and a shortcut to Mexico all in one place?

But when we stopped by The Odyssey building yesterday, we noticed a massive change. The Odyssey building might look totally different soon!
