You may know us for our love of Disney, but in reality, we’re big fans of any and all theme parks and amusement parks here at DFB!
For the mega coaster fans out there, you can’t deny that Six Flags has a lot to offer. And in recent months, we’ve been following the progress of a new coaster coming to Six Flags Over Texas — one that will break some wild records and offer a new level of thrill! Now, a NEW date has been set for its opening.
TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom, but sometimes I run into problems when I ride it.
Whether it’s the ridiculously long wait times, struggles with the lockers, or difficulties with the (in my opinion) uncomfortable seating situation, this ride can be a fairly unique experience. But recently, I encountered some problems with the lockers before hopping on the coaster, and I’m here to share with you the solutions I discovered!
The Muppets takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster has proved controversial amongst some Disney fans, but the truth is it may be one of the best things to happen to the Muppets in years!
When Disney surprisingly announced that the Muppets would be bumping Aerosmith from the coaster last year, fan reaction was somewhat conflicted, with many pointing out that it was awkward for the kid-friendly Muppets to be tied to a thrill ride, and even questioning how they could thematically fit in the park’s Sunset Boulevard area. While there is arguably some merit to these complaints, we’d argue that the potential good greatly outweighs them.
A strong case could be made that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is currently the most popular ride at Walt Disney World. The coaster has dominated the resort’s average wait times nearly every week since it transitioned from a virtual queue to a traditional standby line earlier this year. Behind the scenes, the ride is one of the resort’s most advanced.
The attraction, which first opened in May of 2022, is based on the popular spacefaring Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise. Rumors of the Guardians characters coming to Walt Disney World began almost immediately after the first film was released, partially because the first film was a monstrous hit, and partially because the characters are some of the only Marvel properties not barred from appearing at Walt Disney World due to Marvel’s preexisting licensing deal with Universal. These rumors only strengthened with the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout at Disney’s California Adventure in May of 2017. Later that year, Cosmic Rewind was announced as coming to EPCOT, and replacing Ellen’s Energy Adventure, which was a light retheme of the opening day EPCOT attraction Universe of Energy.
For the past year and a half, one of Disney World’s hottest rides has been TRON Lightcycle / Run.
The coaster opened in April 2023 after several weeks’ worth of previews, and it began operating during the day with a virtual queue to manage crowds. While the ride has had a bit of controversy due to its restrictive seating style, the virtual queue has still been a hot commodity that fills up fairly quickly. But now, Disney has done away with it!
Scale the Forbidden Mountain!
Expedition Everest has been one of Walt Disney World’s premier attractions since it opened in 2006. Despite some well-known technical issues surrounding its heavily promoted Yeti animatronic, the ride has become a favorite attraction of many due to its thrilling coaster layout, including a backward portion.
