We recently covered one of the most terrifying roller coasters yet, the Tormenta Rampaging Run at Six Flags Over Texas near Dallas, Texas. The roller coaster is going to set SIX world records for roller coasters, including a 309-foot maximum elevation and a descent that will send guests 87 mph. When it opens, it’ll be the world’s longest, tallest, and fastest coaster ever!
Tormenta Rampaging Run was set to open on Friday, June 26th, to commemorate Six Flags Over Texas’ 65th anniversary, but the opening has been postponed, with no new opening date in sight!
“All of us at Six Flags Over Texas are just as excited as you are to experience this record-breaking dive coaster,” The park said in an Instagram post on Monday. “As we continue preparing for its debut, the commissioning and testing process is taking longer than expected. While this means pausing our current opening timeline, it ensures that when Tormenta charges out of the gates, it will be a ride experience worthy of its name — bold, intense, and unforgettable. We’ll share a new opening date as soon as it’s ready to be announced. Thank you for your continued patience – we look forward to riding with you soon!”
When Tormenta Rampaging Run opens, it will be the tallest, fastest, longest, and first giga-dive coaster that is over 300 feet tall. The roller coaster is going to set six world records for roller coasters, including a 309-foot maximum elevation and a descent that will send guests 87 mph, making it both the tallest and fastest coaster in the world. The dive coaster will also be the world’s longest coaster at 4,199 feet, the world’s tallest vertical loop at 179 feet, the highest Immelmann inversion that carries passengers upside down and 218 feet above ground, and a 95-degree beyond-vertical drop, plunging riders 285 feet.
We’ll be sure to update you on when Tormenta Rampaging Run opens at Six Flags Over Texas. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more theme park news!
