You may know us for our love of Disney, but in reality, we’re big fans of any and all theme parks and amusement parks here at DFB!
For the mega coaster fans out there, you can’t deny that Six Flags has a lot to offer. And in recent months, we’ve been following the progress of a new coaster coming to Six Flags Over Texas — one that will break some wild records and offer a new level of thrill! Now, a NEW date has been set for its opening.
Six Flags Over Texas just announced it will now be opening its new record-setting coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run, on July 9th. The ride had previously been expected to open on June 26th with the park’s 65th anniversary, but the opening was delayed due to longer-than-expected ride testing.
Tormenta Rampaging Run is inspired by Spain’s running of the bulls, and it will break six coaster records when it opens. It will be the tallest dive coaster (309ft), the fastest dive coaster (87 mph), the longest dive coaster (4,199ft), the tallest vertical coaster loop (179ft), the highest Immelmann inversion (218ft), and the highest 95-degree beyond-vertical drop (285ft).
It will be located in a new section of the park called Rancho de la Tormenta, where there will also be a new restaurant named Cocina Abuela. The dining location will serve Spanish and Latin American food. If you’re a mega coaster fan and thrill seeker, this new ride will definitely be on your bucket list!
