Walt Disney once said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” And since Walt Disney World first opened on October 1, 1971, new rides, attractions, and lands have certainly added LOTS of “new things” for guests to enjoy over the years!

Here, we’ve gathered all of the new rides and attractions coming to Disney World in 2026 (and even a bit beyond) so you can plan your trips accordingly!

New and Updated Rides, Attractions, and Experiences at Disney World in 2026

Hollywood Studios

The Walt Disney Studios (Now Open) and The Magic of Disney Animation — OPENING on September 14th, 2026!

A brand new area has come to Disney’s Hollywood Studios: get ready to step into The Walt Disney Studios as it is currently opening in phases! The area previously known as Animation Courtyard has been reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios as a “special nod to the legendary Walt Disney Studios Lot” in Burbank, California.

Ultimately here, Disney Animation characters will “leap off the screen and into our world.” The new land retains two of Animation Courtyard’s signature attractions while introducing brand-new experiences inspired by beloved Disney characters as well as the “Once Upon a Studio” short film! A new building will let you into the studio, “as the animators have temporarily stepped away,” and characters come to life and take over in The Magic of Disney Animation!

The experience draws its inspiration from the Disney short “Once Upon A Studio.” If you’ve seen the short (and if you haven’t, you can view it here and on Disney+), you will remember how the Disney characters came to life… and The Magic of Animation will present its own moments when portraits come to life as they do in the short! Disney even teased that  here “you’ll even pencil in some time to learn how to draw your very own character sketch.”

And there’s even more in store… like lots of Character Greetings, an indoor playground, and a courtyard for all guests!

The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! officially opened to guests on May 26, 2026, while The Magic of Disney Animation will open on September 14th, 2026!

Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! — NOW OPEN!

As mentioned briefly above, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! also made its official debut on May 26, 2026 in the space previously occupied by Disney Jr. Play and Dance!

Get ready to enjoy upbeat tunes with Mickey and pals, along with lots interactive fun for the kiddos. Just like its counterpart show in Disneyland Resort, Mickey and Minnie are having guests over at Mickey’s house for a party. But Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto haven’t arrived just yet, so Mickey and Minnie head out on a road trip to bring the whole group back together.

NEW Adventures on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — NOW OPEN!

In honor of the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie on May 22nd, 2026, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run now offers NEW experiences for those who ride it, as of that same date.

The ride has debuted a new storyline featuring both the Mandalorian and Grogu… complete with NEW missions!

There are also new Star Wars destinations to explore including including Bespin, Tatooine, the ruins of the Death Star, Coruscant, Beggar’s Canyon, and more! AND for the first time ever, you and your crew get to be in control of the destination!! It now falls to the Engineer on board to choose where to go throughout the journey, where passengers will team up with the Mandalorian, Grogu, and Hondo.

You see, Hondo Ohnaka just found out about a deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and some pirates, and, yep, there’s a good bounty for their capture. So the mission is to “borrow” the Millennium Falcon and team up with The Mandalorian and Grogu to track them down.

Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring THE MUPPETS — NOW OPEN!

The new Monsters, Inc. land is taking over what was previously Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, BUT that wasn’t the end of The Muppets in Hollywood Studios. In fact, The Muppets have moved elsewhere in Hollywood Studios…

The Muppets are now the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and have teamed up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.”

This is the first Disney ride to feature The Muppets! It is now open as of May 26th, 2026.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is a Lightning Lane Multi Pass Tier 1 attraction. 

We Just Rode Disney’s NEW Rock ‘n ‘Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, and We Have SO Much To Tell You

In order to make way for the transformation into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, the previous version of the attraction, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, closed permanently on March 2nd.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Bluey’s Wild World – NOW OPEN!

Animal Kingdom welcomed Bluey this summer! The park’s Conservation Station is now home to Bluey’s Wild World, where guests can “play and dance with Bluey and Bingo!

Play some of (their) favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy.”

Plus, as part of your wild excursion, step outside to discover an experience with animals native to Bluey’s home country of Australia!

Soarin’ Across America — NOW SOARING!

Soarin’ Around the World in The Land Pavilion has become Soarin’ Across America for the summer of 2026! This brand new “airborne adventure” takes you across the United States, “highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes.”

This limited-time “itinerary” is part of “Disney Celebrates America” in honor of the 250^th anniversary of the United States of America.

Please be aware that, to make way for the changes, Soarin’ Around the World closed on May 14th, 2026.

Level99 — NOW OPEN!

LEVEL99 is NOW OPEN in Disney Springs as of June 29th, 2026! LEVEL99 is an interactive, social entertainment experience. More specifically, it is a destination for “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults featuring physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments. 

The Disney Springs location is also the largest LEVEL99 to date with over 60 challenge rooms and duels, and you’ll find it on the West Side of Disney Springs.

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

Disney has announced some HUGE changes for the Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom — the entire ride is changing! A Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic will be added. AND each scene will be completely overhauled to feature new decades — and we’ll even get a glimpse into the future!

Carousel of Progress closed on July 6th, 2026 to make way for these massive changes. It is expected to reopen in late Spring 2027.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

“Welcome to Monstropolis Show” at the Glob Theater

Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World is preparing to open a BRAND NEW THEMED LAND featuring those lovable monsters from MONSTERS, INC.! It’s almost time for us humans to visit Monstropolis. 

The land will open in phases starting in 2027. Humans visiting Monstropolis can head to the Glob Theater to see a theatrical show: Welcome to Monstropolis! This production will open within the first opening phase of Monstropolis.

Our hosts for the show will be none other than Mike and Sulley! According to Chris Beatty, Vice President, Walt Disney Imagineering, “Sulley has been working on a small, homespun show, but Mike – ever the showman – has a few surprises up his sleeve that he thinks will bring down the house. Hopefully not literally.”

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

THREE Attractions Coming to The Tropical Americas Pueblo Esperanza

A NEW LAND themed to the Tropical Americas is coming to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park in 2027. Get ready to step into Pueblo Esperanza! Pueblo Esperanza will become home to two signature attractions — an Encanto ride featuring the Madrigal family and a new Indiana Jones adventure ride! A Carousel will also provide another ride option.

Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent

An Indiana Jones ride is coming to Pueblo Esperanza: Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent!

And while some may be familiar with the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction in Disneyland, the Indiana Jones ride in Animal Kingdom will feature a brand-new story.

As described by Disney, the attraction will follow “the man with the hat” during a time when he has “recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.”

Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto

Pueblo Esperanza will feature an all-new Encanto-themed ride with the family Madrigal inside the enchanted Casita: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto!

The story itself will go beyond that of the film, and the ride will begin just as Antonio has received his special gift and his room becomes a beautiful rainforest. You may recall from Encanto that Antonio can speak with animals thanks to his gift, and the attraction will feature over 50 animals throughout! You will go exploring with Antonio and, according to Disney, “You never know what member of the family you might bump into…”

El Carrusel de los Animalitos

Additionally, Pueblo Esperanza will feature a new giant carousel “sculpted by a local woodcarver.” Get ready to ride El Carrusel de los Animalitos!

In all, the carousel will feature 22 unique animals.

Magic Kingdom

TWO New Cars-themed Attractions Coming to Frontierland

Disney has announced that a new area inspired by the movie Cars is coming to Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland! Get ready to visit Piston Peak!

The cars are leaving Radiator Springs to explore the West and into new frontiers. So, what’s coming to this Cars-themed area? Guests can look forward to two NEW Cars attractions!

Cars Ridge Run Rally

Get ready to race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes on an exciting and thrilling ride: Cars Ridge Run Rally!

Disney shares that “The course will take racers through the rugged beauty of America’s national parks, including a climb up Piston Peak itself, where an icy, snow-covered mountaintop awaits.”

Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along

The second ride will be geared toward “smaller racers” and will be fun for the whole family: Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along!

Here, you’ll enter into a demolition derby with Miss Fritter and her “a larger than life personality,” in her form as a high school-sized bus animatronic! And she’s inviting YOU along for the party as she hosts her “wildest demolition derby yet.

TWO New Attractions Coming to Villains Land

BEWARE… there is something wicked on the way to Magic Kingdom. Disney has announced that Magic Kingdom will be expanded with a brand new Villains Land!

When the project was initially announced, it was shared that TWO major attractions, along with new dining and shopping experiences will be presented “on an incredibly twisted grand scale.”

Maleficent-themed Roller Coaster

Further details were revealed at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event in August 2026. Disney confirmed that a Maleficent coaster will headline one of the land’s attractions.

Guests “will come face-to-face with the Mistress of All Evil herself, Maleficent. You’ll race through enchanted briar surrounding her frightening mountaintop fortress – if you’re feeling brave enough to answer her invitation.”

Dark Ride Featuring the Magic Mirror

There will also be a dark ride in Villains Land hosted by the Evil Queen’s Magic Mirror! Yes, that Evil Queen, of course, whose best-known quote from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remains, “”Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?”

But she is not alone… Disney shared that “you’ll find the Magic Mirror where the Evil Queen keeps him in the catacombs beneath her pristine palace. After making your way to him, he’ll magically transport you into his mystical Mirror Realm to see things on the other side of the mirror.  There, in his ethereal realm, you’ll be transfixed by countless Disney Villains conjured in ways only the Magic Mirror can do. A combination of special effects and physical set pieces will bring his Mirror Realm – and these iconic Villains – to life.”

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

NEW Roller Coaster Coming to Monstropolis

Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World is preparing to open a BRAND NEW THEMED LAND featuring those lovable monsters from MONSTERS, INC.! It’s almost time for us humans to visit Monstropolis. The land will open in phases starting in 2027.

Ultimately, Monstropolis will feature Disney’s VERY FIRST suspended coaster, which “will put you right in the middle of the monster action. Just be sure to fill out your paperwork! Roz is always watching…” However, the coaster will not open in 2027 with the rest of Monstropolis, as mentioned above. An opening timeline has not yet been announced.

Spaceship Earth Reimagining

In August 2026, Disney announced that Spaceship Earth is getting an update for the first time in nearly 20 years. The reimagining will bring the classic attraction into the present day and beyond.

There will be new magic added to every scene on Spaceship Earth. It will be celebrating the progress made possible through human connection. Disney has not yet shared a timeline for when we could see these changes.
