UPDATED May 27, 2026
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park allows guests to take control of the Millennium Falcon in one of three roles while on an important mission. You’ll be tracking down ex-Imperial officers with none other than The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) and Grogu!
Located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the attraction is an interactive flight simulator that allows guests to take on the role of pilot, gunner, or flight engineer on “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!”
Be prepared to receive your mission from audio-animatronic Weequay space pirate Hondo Ohnaka.
In May 2026, a brand new story and mission made its debut on Smugglers Run in conjunction with the film release of The Mandalorian and Grogu. You see, Hondo Ohnaka has made a deal with the New Republic, agreeing to deliver the coordinates of three bounties on Tatooine.
His reward? Any cargo that YOU may help to collect along the way! And in the meantime, the plan is that the Mandalorian and Grogu will focus on capturing the bounties. However, the mission changes when your cover is blown. The three bounties each go off in a different direction, prompting an important choice by the crew who has “borrowed” the Millennium Falcon…
But first, guests will go through Hondo Ohnaka Transport Solutions (the queue!) before setting foot aboard the Falcon.
Along the way, both outside and in…
… you’ll be treated to some fantastic views of this storied ship.
And yes, setting foot aboard means seeing truly iconic scenes such as the Dejarik — or holochess — table. (Also, YES, you can sit in it and pose for a picture!)
In fact, many of the things you see will convince you that you truly have arrived in “a galaxy far, far away…”
Keep your eyes peeled for familiar sights (and your ears open to sounds) on board.
After winding through the compartments of the ship, guests — in groups of six — receive their flight crew assignments from an Ohnaka Transport Solutions Crew Member (otherwise known as a Disney Cast Member), receiving one of three roles:
Two guests are assigned to be Pilots to guide the course of the Millennium Falcon!
The Pilot seated on the left steers the control to move left and right, while the Pilot seated on the right steers down and up.
Two guests are assigned as Gunners to fire the blasters and missiles upon receiving the signal! (The signal is a system of blinking lights alerting the Gunners of exactly what, when, and where to push to execute the mission.)
Gunners can opt for either Automatic or Manual Mode, with Automatic providing a bit more ease for those new to the position.
Finally, two are assigned to be Engineers to take care of any urgent systems repair needs that may arise. (Engineers are also alerted by way of a system of lights to know what, when, and where to push to successfully fix the Falcon.)
As part of the May 2026 changes to the attraction, you and your crew now get to be in control of the destination! It now falls to one Engineer on board to choose where to go throughout the journey, where passengers will team up with The Mandalorian, Grogu, and Hondo. Possible Star Wars destinations you may explore include Bespin, the ruins of the Death Star, and Coruscant!
What, Exactly, Is “Grogu Mode” on Smugglers Run, and How Do You Unlock It?
Really… what could possibly go wrong? Unless, of course, you’ve “got a bad feeling about this…”
But there’s no time to worry about that now. It’s time to enter the famed cockpit of the Millennium Falcon!
Pilots are seated in the front, gunners in the middle, and flight engineers in the last row.
Perform your duties well, and you’ll be rewarded. Fail, and you could find yourself in some trouble with the space pirate!
