July 1st was Canada Day, and a brand-new poutine location, La Poutinerie, took over what was formerly the Refreshment Port. However, that’s not the only change that hit the park, and this subtle one may be easier to miss than the new dining spot!
I am devastated to be the one to show you this, but DinoLand U.S.A. is off the map at Animal Kingdom.
New Animal Kingdom Map
Yep, after opening in 1998, DinoLand has become extinct, and even though we were among the final to ride DINOSAUR on closing day, we had to come back in the morning to witness the changes. Not only was all of DinoLand officially blocked off, but when we picked up a park map, we saw changes we’ve been dreading for months now. If you’re sensitive to Disney nostalgia and permanently closed attractions, look away now!
Some BIG things are happening over in Disneyland Paris. Walt Disney Studios Park has completely transformed itself into Disney Adventure World, which will bring a ton of new lands, rides, and entertainment to the resort.

Disney Adventure World officially opens when World of Frozen opens on March 29th, but Disneyland Paris has already revealed what the new Disney Adventure World park map will look like…and we’re sharing that updated park map with you. So exciting!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed
This popular ride in Disney World will be closed for at least a year, reopening sometime in 2026 with a “little bit of new magic.” If you wanted to ride it one last time, you were able to do so on Sunday, January 5th, but now you will have to wait at least a year before hopping on “The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” once again. With the closure, we noticed Disney made another small but impactful change at Magic Kingdom!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park has made some big changes recently, specifically when it comes to characters!

Russell and Dug from Up recently got their old meet-and-greet back in Discovery Island, and just a few days ago, Pocahontas, Goofy, and Pluto started meeting in the park again as well. However, with the return of all these character meet and greets, we’ve been mourning the loss of the old character flotillas that sailed the Discovery River. Because of all these changes, Animal Kingdom had to update its park map for the first time in over a YEAR!

The Disney parks often release new maps that sometimes include recent changes to attractions, restaurants, or seasonal offerings. This week we spotted a new map in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that features a big addition!
If you can navigate the Disney parks without a park map, you deserve a medal; it’s not easy memorizing all the paths, buildings, and secret stairs in Disney’s HUGE theme parks.

The 50th Anniversary Celebration is finally coming to an end. We’ve already seen a lot of the 50th decor disappearing from the parks, and we’re wondering what’s going to happen to Cinderella Castle once it’s over. We’re also mourning the loss of some of the best 50th anniversary snacks. But change is what Disney World is all about, and a NEW change has signaled that this party is officially over.
