A Disney+ subscription comes with plenty of perks — and quite a few of them translate outside of the streaming service into the real world! These perks are ever-changing, so while new offerings pop up all the time, they often replace something outgoing. Ask a Disney Parks fan how they feel about movie-based attractions and you are not getting a simple answer. You are getting a full monologue, three examples, one deeply personal EPCOT grievance, and possibly a dramatic sigh. This debate has been simmering for years, but lately it has started to feel a lot less like fan speculation and a lot more like Disney’s actual blueprint.

That is because Disney has not exactly been coy about where things are headed. In 2024, Bob Iger said that “almost all” of Disney’s investment in park lands and attractions would be built around IP. Then, at Disney’s 2025 shareholders meeting, the company highlighted a pipeline packed with IP-driven projects, including Cars and a Villains land at Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with Encanto and Indiana Jones in the mix. In other words, this is no longer just a fan fear, or a fan dream, depending on which side of the argument you live on. It is very much the plan.
We love being a Disney+ subscriber for all the Disney content that we can have at our fingertips. But, exclusive perks, freebies, and good deals are a pretty big plus as well!

Disneyland Handcrafted is a brand-new documentary focused on the creation of Disneyland, featuring rarely seen footage from the Disney Archives. Coming to Disney+ and Disney YouTube on January 22nd, 2026, this documentary is helmed by Leslie Iwerks — an award-winning director and producer who comes from a long lineage of Disney icons. We were afforded the opportunity to speak with her, and she shed some insight on the film, Disneyland history, Walt himself, and the filmmaking process!
ABC, ESPN, and other Disney-owned channels could be dropped for YouTube TV subscribers at the end of the month. According to CNBC, Disney and Google, the parent company of YouTube TV, have not yet reached an agreement to continue service for Disney’s programming. The current distribution agreement expires on October 30th at 11:59 PM ET. If the two companies have not reached an agreement by then, YouTube TV subscribers will see ABC and ESPN go dark.

So far, the two companies have not been able to reach terms agreeable to both. Disney recently began running public announcements on YouTube TV about the potential disruption, which would include losing access to ESPN, ABC, and marquee programming like NFL, college football, NBA, and NHL. YouTube TV has already stated that if the programming “remains unavailable for an extended period of time,” they will offer subscribers a $20 credit. With only a few days left before the previous agreement expires, we hope they can reach an agreement soon.
