NEWS: Experts Reveal Who They Think Will Be Disney’s Next CEO

Bloomberg recently polled 700 industry experts, asking them a variety of questions, including one we were particularly interested in: Who will be the CEO of Disney in 2027?

Currently, Bob Iger is the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, but all eyes are on the eventual succession to a new CEO. Back in November 2022, when Bob Chapek was ousted as CEO and replaced by Bob Iger (who had previously been the CEO), it was stated that Bob Iger would serve as CEO for just 2 years. However, in July 2023, the Board of Directors unanimously voted to extend Iger’s contract through December 31st, 2026.

New Report Reveals TWO Frontrunners for Disney’s Next CEO

Disney CEO Bob Iger is set to retire at the end of 2026.

Iger was previously CEO of the company for 15 years before handing over the reins to Bob Chapek in 2020. Chapek lasted until 2022, when he was ousted from the role, and his job was given back to Iger. Now, Iger’s second term as CEO includes one major goal — to find a suitable successor.

Thousands of job cuts have already affected Disney employees recently, and thousands more will be happening this week.

CEO Bob Iger announced in February that The Walt Disney Company was implementing a plan to cut $5.5 billion in annual costs, and part of that plan involved about 7,000 job cuts across the company. The first wave of layoffs and job cuts happened in March, and the next wave (and the biggest one) is happening this week (the week of April 24th). Now, we have more details about those cuts.
