It Just Got Easier To Get To Disney’s Old Key West Resort

The one thing we LOVE about visiting Disney World is that once you’re on property, you have a multitude of transportation options to get you all over the resort, to and from the parks, to and from the hotels, and to and from Disney Springs. It’s so nice not to have to drive anywhere, thanks to Disney buses, the Skyliner, the Monorail, and boats.

However, sometimes a transportation option gets closed for whatever reason, and that can kinda put a wrench in your plans, although Disney always offers an alternative mode of transportation. Well, one transportation option, the boat that travels between Disney Springs and Disney’s Old Key West Resort, recently closed for refurbishment, but we’re happy to report that the boat is now available again and open for service.

Refurb Report: Tons of Teeth, One Finished Project, And Another Delayed For Two Months

Alright, Disney World, it’s time to really dive in and see what you’ve got going on this week. It’s currently wall-city all around the parks (with the exception of EPCOT; rock on, EPCOT), but it’s all to bring exciting new additions to the parks…but that doesn’t mean they’re any easier to look at for now.

This week, we didn’t see too much movement on the major projects behind the walls, but we DID see a lot of details added to one specific new land, and it does make us laugh a bit every time we see it (in a good way!). On the flip side, a project in EPCOT did finally finish up, though we’re not sure people are going to be big fans of the final product, and for the holiday lovers out there, one of your favorite ride overlays comes back this week!

Refurb Report: Do You Want The Good News Or Bad News About Disney World Construction First?

Alright, Disney World, it’s time to really dive in and see what you’ve got going on this week. We know you’ve got walls all around, but have you added any more in the past week?

If that seems unlikely…you must be new to the Disney sphere. We’re thrilled to have you here, but one of the first things to get familiar with is that walls in Disney World are VERY common right now, and in past weeks, we’ve seen them add more and more projects without finishing other ones first. It’s no secret the park is seeing some massive refurbishments right now, and so if you’re visiting, it’s important to really be prepared to see those walls.

Disney World Construction Updates: These Closures Are Getting Out Of Hand

Fall break is alive and well in Disney World, which is a time of year many people forget about, then wonder why in the world there’s a random 3-4 weeks in between the end of summer and Thanksgiving week that are absolutely bonkers. Yep, that’s why.

It’s also hard to track when exactly fall breaks will cause high crowds, since they land in different weeks for various schools. This does mean the crowds are a bit more spread out, rather than arriving all at once, but it still means Disney World becomes more intense than many people expect it to be for early October. But other than being shoulder to shoulder with thousands of your closest strangers, what else can you expect from Disney World this week? The answer? A LOT.

NEWS: Closure Hits Disney’s Old Key West Resort Today

Oopsies! Getting from your Disney World hotel to Disney Springs might be a bit harder now.

We’re always bragging about Disney World transportation because it really is that good (okay, and fun. We may turn into little kids when we ride the monorail). It helps us get from point A to point B for free and keeps our Disney days running smoothly. A new closure just hit this resort, and boat transportation will look a little different.

This Transportation Closure Just Made It HARDER To Get To Disney Springs

You just got to your Disney World hotel with your suitcases in hand. After checking out of your room, you have one mission: a trip to Disney Springs! We love coming here on our arrival days, grabbing some dinner and doing some shopping. As you head to the boat deck, you get hit with a closure, making it a bit harder to get to Disney Springs! Ah!

Disney World transportation is a huge perk of going to the parks, and we love getting direct transportation from the hotels. While every resort has buses, some resorts have additional options like the monorail, Skyliner, and boats, but right now, a closure is here AGAIN, and it can throw a wrench in your Disney World trip.
