Today’s the day! We’re LIVE at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts — a celebration of the Visual, Performing, and Culinary Arts!!
And you know what that means…
Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts begins on Friday, and today DFB popped into a media preview to give you the scoop on some can’t miss merch — including Figment Ears that are absolutely a must buy! We also got to try several of the eats and see a lot of the other fun secrets coming to Festival of the Arts, so stay tuned for that post later today!
But first say hello to the boss. I love his new short pants so much. FYI, this new “Celebration Mickey” will be seen everywhere coming this Friday when the parks start fully celebrating his 90th birthday with new shows, new food, and new experiences! Stay tuned for that — we’ll be reporting on all of it!
And now ears. Beloved Figment — star of the updated and oft-maligned Journey Into Imagination in Epcot’s Future World — has finally gotten his due in Mickey ear form. And you’ve just got to see them.
There’s so much going on in Epcot! They are getting ready for the Festival of the Arts to open next week, adding new rides, attractions, restaurants, and even more. This visit was jam-packed with updates!
Let’s dive into all of the updates and start in Future World at one of our first stops on every visit — Fountain View for Coffee and Cupcakes!
It’s definitely looking a little more artistic around Epcot this week as the park prepares for the opening of the Festival of the Arts next Friday, January 18! During our visit to Epcot this week we spotted the booths in the process of changing over from the Festival of the Holidays to the Festival of the Arts, as well as other sure signs a new Festival is about to begin!
We are getting excited, and our bags are packed as we prepare to be there on opening day to provide you with photos of all of the food, drinks, activities, merchandise — and of course the Best of the Fest!
The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts will take place January 18 – February 25, 2019! For the third year in a row, the Festival will celebrate three artistic disciplines: Culinary, Visual, and Performing Arts.
There is LOTS of new info to share in regards to all three disciplines! But of course, we’re starting with our personal favorite 😉 … the Culinary Arts!
Culinary Arts Food Studios
The primary way the Festival of the Arts recognizes the Culinary Arts is through Food Studios located around Epcot’s World Showcase! Much like the Marketplace Booths for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, these Food Booths bring enhanced food offerings to Festival guests with a focus on artistic presentation of the dishes. The Festival of the Arts is the very first Epcot Festival of 2018! From January 12 through February 19, Epcot will celebrate the Culinary, Visual, and Performing Arts with special activities and events in practically every corner of the park.
We’re already making our list of all the NEW EATS to try at the Festival’s Food Booths (which are like the Food and Wine Festival’s Marketplace Booths) and can’t wait to share our 2018 favorites with you on the 12th.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts kicks off once again on January 12, 2018, returning to celebrate the Visual, Culinary, and Performing Arts!
One of the ways the Performing Arts are honored is through the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, where guests can enjoy Broadway talent performing Disney classics at the America Gardens Theatre.
The performances will take place at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm, and 8:00 pm on Friday through Monday evenings throughout the Festival.
Last month, the dates of the 2018 Epcot International Festival of the Arts were confirmed. The Festival will return for its second year running for seven days a week, from January 12 through February 19, 2018.
Along with the Festival, the Disney on Broadway Concert Series will return, too!
