We’ve got huge heart eyes for ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — we just don’t always have the funds to indulge in their unlimited tasty meat skewers, teriyaki noodles, and signature bread pudding as often as we’d like to! (Especially dem noods!)
And while we’ve always had a knack for finding crafty ways to get our favorite ‘Ohana eats on without booking a Dining Reservation for the super spendy restaurant — like this super under the radar $60 twilight feast or how you can secretly get ‘Ohana’s famous bread pudding after 4PM at Tambu Lounge — we just unearthed even more ‘Ohana secret menu items!
Located in the Polynesian’s lobby upstairs next to ‘Ohana, Tambu Lounge was THE spot to grab a drink at the Poly before there was Trader Sam’s to fill that rum-filled void we never knew we had in our hearts!
We’ve enjoyed many a Lapu Lapu here! And since Tambu Lounge shares a kitchen with ‘Ohana, we’ve known for quite a while that you can actually ORDER SOME OF ‘OHANA’S MENU ITEMS HERE!
What we didn’t know until last night is that Tambu Lounge has now become a literal decadent den of ‘Ohana delights! How is this possible? What’s the sitch with these $5 noodles? Don’t worry — we’re about to spill all our deepest ‘Ohana secret menu SECRETS!
The printed menu of Tambu Lounge’s nibbles includes Conch Ceviche, Shrimp Cocktail, Beef Tataki, Crispy Chicken Spring Roll, and a Mixed Grill Kebab served with a savory peanut sauce.
But don’t be fooled! Tambu Lounge also has secret ‘Ohana eats you can order from the bartenders after 4PM! You just have to be brave enough to speak up and ask for ’em! That’s how we nabbed ourselves this tasty ‘Ohana dinner on the CHEAP! It’s basically a WHOLE ‘Ohana meal (minus the veggies…we are somehow ok with that!) and we didn’t even have an ADR!
That Mixed Grill Kebab that’s printed on the menu? While it isn’t as secret as the other ‘Ohana items, many folks may not realize that the meat is the EXACT SAME deliciousness that ‘Ohana serves in its restaurant!
The kebab includes four shrimp, two pieces of chicken and two pieces of sizzlin’ steak — he’s a meaty boy for only $13! Plus, it’s served on a bed of greens so…that counts as your veggies, right?!
Okay, now for the stuff you won’t find on the printed Tambu Lounge menu, but you can order if you’re in the Polynesian-know (wink-wink!). Check out the loaf of ‘Ohana pineapple-coconut bread we scored! The cost was $6, which was a little steep considering it was just bread with some butter, but the fact that it’s ‘Ohana bread made us have to get it!
And the moment you’ve all been waiting for… you can now order the ‘Ohana Teriyaki Noodles! Just look at ’em all delicious and begging to be eaten! Better yet, they only cost us FIVE BUCKS!
Whaaattttt?!! We’re still pinching ourselves, but it’s the glorious reality that is happening right now at Tambu Lounge. A Cast Member confirmed that folks had been asking for ‘Ohana’s noodles so often that they’ve finally given in!
It’s not the size-of-our-heads bowl of noodles we were hoping for, but for only five bucks (that’s only a bit more than a bottle of water at Disney), we think it’s worth the money!
Our entire ‘Ohana feast only cost us $24 before tax! Can you believe it!? What a time to be alive! Of course, if you really want to go in for the FULL ‘OHANA Experience, you can also get ‘Ohana’s potstickers and sticky wings at Tambu Lounge!
That should help you fill out your meal — and your stretchy pants!
You’ll want to make sure you save some room for dessert because you won’t want to miss out on the signature ‘Ohana bread pudding you can also get from Tambu Lounge. It’s one of the best-kept secrets of this Polynesian watering hole that we’ve been lucky enough to know for quite a while. It has to be, in all seriousness, one of our all-time favorite desserts at Disney World! Just look at that rich banana caramel sauce and melty vanilla ice cream — I’M NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING!
By our count, you can now get a total of six, yes SIX ‘Ohana menu items at Tambu Lounge — that’s practically everything except their salad or veggies. (And ‘Ohana salad is such a game changer that we wouldn’t be surprised if they gave in on that soon, too!)
So if you’re looking for another sneaky way to eat some ‘Ohana grub at low, low prices (well, a lot lower than it costs to eat AT ‘Ohana, at least!), get on down to Tambu Lounge for some five-dollar noods and tell ’em your DFB friends sent you!

When we were there at the beginning of August, my daughter and I went to Tambu lounge to get the bread pudding and we were told they had just recently changed the menu and it wasn’t available. Sounds like someone didn’t know what they were talking about! They handed us a menu, but of course it wasn’t on there. We even asked if that was where we could get the bread pudding and that’s when the guy handed us the menu and said he didn’t know if it was on there or not. Hopefully everyone is up-to-date now!
Katie says
This is so awesome! I have a O’hana reservation for my upcoming trip but it’s very late so I’m hoping to change it. If that doesn’t work, this may be the perfect solution!
Polly says
Favorite bar in all of Disney. We have been ordering these items for a long time at Tambu and vegetables, I do feel when word gets out Disney will change it, so soon this SECRET may disappear. Hope not
M'Shel says
Oh my goodness, I hope to try this in 10 days when we arrive. Haven’t planned a single ADR, so this will very likely be where we go as soon as we get to WDW property. So excited! So thankful I saw this before I went! Dd and I ate at O’hana for the first time in March and absolutely loved it. Going with dh for F&W and was seriously trying to figure out how to get these yummy items. Yay!
justin says
The wings and potstickers are a different product than what is served in ‘Ohana (better quality).
Cayley says
Do you think we could get the meat skewer with one extra chicken and steak and without the shrimp??
DFB Sarah says
Cayley, you’d have to ask, but I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility.
tom says
Once everyone starts going here to get these Ohana items all the time, watch for Disney to raise the price big time and or do away with it all together, once too many come there just for that, they really want you paying the ohana price.
Beth says
I’m not sure Disney are worried that this will affect Ohana, I think that place is always going to be packed.
To be fair, the $24 quoted in the article above doesn’t include pot stickers, wings or bread pudding. I don’t know how much they cost but I’ll bet they’ll push the total close to $50. And that still doesn’t include a drink. So overall if you want all the Ohana food you wouldn’t be paying that much less than at Ohana.
Becca Peterson says
This is amazing!! This whole article! The content as well as the words used to convey it. I’m not crying! You’re crying! 😂😂😂 Thank you DFB!!!
Laura says
I currently have a reservation for Ohana but it’s at a time I don’t love and I’d be MUCH happier to just eat my favorite couple items at Tambu!! But I’m scared to release my Ohana reservation and then show up at Tambu and find out I can’t actually do this. Is there any chance of this happening? Or am I safe to release my reservation back into the wild?
DFB Sarah says
Laura, menus are always subject to change, and you could potentially find Tambu is packed and you can’t get a seat for a while. It’s a hard call! (If you do get into Tambu, you could try moving your ‘Ohana reservation to a different day, then cancel at 24+ hours out. Or talk to the host/hostess at ‘Ohana and explain the situation to see if they can cancel you without the late cancellation fee.)
Ashley Morgenthal says
In all seriousness, did you eat the rest of the shrimp before taking the picture? Why would Disney be serving grilled shrimp tails? The meat is all gone! I was really excited because we love O’Hana, but not the price tag, but don’t know if $13 warrants a couple small pieces of meat.
Cathy says
There is no secret Menu, well at least not anymore now that you wrote about it. All you have to do is just ask and they will charge it for you. Watch the prices go up when everyone starts ordering at tambu
Bellamouse says
I remember when the Ohana all you care to enjoy restaurant price was $25, and the dessert was fresh pineapple with caramel sauce. The food was 1000x better then. Sad that now we are supposed to be happy with a half quantity (less, really) of lower quality items for that same price. It’s just a big wheat fest now… Bread, noodles and bread pudding and wheat and sugar are the absolute cheapest ingredients there are. I wouldn’t mind paying the higher prices they have now if they were using high quality ingredients like they used to. Now I just get sick when I eat there. Glad for all you who love it. But I’m still sad (and bitter) that some really great food is now gone.
Vern says
Went on 1/12/20 and ordered the noodles and wings at the bar.
Wings were $11 for 6 and the bowl of noodles were $9.
Elaine says
@Vern Thank you for this report – very helpful!
Jo says
Do you know if we can still order the ohana noodles at Tambu lounge now? Thank you!
DFB Sarah says
Jo, last time we checked, yes!
Hal says
Can you still order the meat skewers and noodles at Tambu Lounge?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Hal! As of right now, the only things on the menu are the California Roll, Pot Stickers, Big Kahuna’s Hot Wings and Kaikane’s Barbecue Pork Ribs, but it never hurts to ask! They might be able to accommodate you if they have everything on hand.
Tracy says
We are headed to the Poly in December. Does anyone know if the secret menu items are available right now? Especially want to try the bread pudding.
