We have more runDisney news to share with you today! While we’ve already discussed the updated registration date for the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, runDisney has also made adjustments to the registration dates for the other 2021 race events AND for this year’s runDisney Virtual Series.
We’ll turn our attention first to the 2020 runDisney Virtual Series, as registration for this at-home race series will open TOMORROW, April 16th at 10:00 AM EST.
RunDisney shares: “As people look for alternative and acceptable ways to stay active while maintaining social distancing, many are choosing to run at home. With that in mind, we are opening sales for the fifth-annual runDisney Virtual Series April 16.”
“Themed around favorite Walt Disney World Resort attractions, this series of 5K runs is a great way to bring some of the magic of the parks to your home or favorite local running trail. And to provide additional flexibility, runners will have the entire summer to complete any virtual 5K of their choosing – or the series.”
Mad Tea Party, Space Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion will be the attractions celebrated in the series (and participants will receive themed medals accordingly).
Changes have been made to the registration dates for the 2021 races as well. As a reminder, the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will now open for registration to the general public on May 12, 2020 (a change from its previously announced April registration date). May 7, 2020 is the pre-sale date for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and Golden Oak residents.
Registration for the 2021 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (which will take place February 18-21, 2021) will now open on June 16, 2020 to the general public, with pre-sale open for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members and Golden Oak residents opening on June 11, 2020.
And registration for the 2021 Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend (which will take place April 15-18, 2021) will now open on August 11, 2020 to the general public, with pre-sale open for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members and Golden Oak residents opening on August 6, 2020.
No matter the race weekend, all registrations will open at 10:00 AM EST on their assigned date.
As runDisney shares on the website’s official blog, “We hope sharing these dates will help you in your planning and give you ample time for training.”
