How Does Disney World Handle Limited-Edition Shopping Events NOW?!

With Halloween right around the corner, we’ve been seeing a ton of Nightmare Before Christmas and Haunted Mansion merch flood the parks! And yesterday we learned about a special shopping event that would give Passholders early access to the new Ghost Victor Geist Funko Pop (he’s the Haunted Mansion’s resident organist!).

Do note that Disney had previously shared that “new collection product launches and limited edition merchandise” would not be available for in-person purchases. This is the first big limited-edition merchandise shopping event that we have seen since the parks reopened. But it, of course, is limited to Annual Passholders and was only announced one day prior to the release.

Here’s how the process went for us today.

Disney’s Statement on Limited-Release Merchandise

Passholders (with Disney Park Pass reservations for today) can visit The Frontier Trading Post in Magic Kingdom to purchase this exclusive Disney parks Funko Pop. But since we’re at Disney Springs, we made our way over to World of Disney! We were directed to a side entrance and waited until it was our turn to enter! We didn’t have to wait very long!

Lots of Victor Geist Funko Pops were in da house this morning! Three stations were set up and Passholders could only make 1 transaction as part of this exclusive event. Sales were limited to 3 items per transaction.

Just like we’d seen earlier when we purchased Disney face masks at the Marketplace Co-Op, our items were given to us in a clear plastic bag. We were able to walk around the rest of World of Disney and continue shopping. Once we were ready to complete our purchase, we went to the cash register and our items were transferred to a regular shopping bag once we’d paid for them.

The Victor Geist Funko Pop costs $39.99 and it’s pretty big! Not quite as big as the massive Baby Yoda Funko Pop we spotted yesterday, but still larger than your average Funko!

Not an Annual Passholder? Don’t worry — any remaining Victor Geist Funko Pops will be sold starting tomorrow to all guests (that’s IF any are LEFT!).
