Splash Mountain is one of those attractions at Disney World that has a LOT of down time.
From animatronics that don’t always work the way they’re supposed to technical problems that completely close the ride, we’ve seen the ride shut down often due to various issues. We’ve even seen it evacuated on more than one occasion.
Today, though, we actually got a notification through the My Disney Experience app via a pop-up message informing us that Splash Mountain was unavailable. The message presumably comes from Jason Kirk, Magic Kingdom Vice President, and even includes an apology.
This is personally our first time seeing this message, so we thought we’d share it with you all. We think it’s pretty helpful as it could save you a walk across the park. We are keeping a close eye on Slash and will update this post when the attraction reopens.
As always, we’ll keep you updated on everything going on at Magic Kingdom today, so stay tuned!
UPDATE: Splash could be back up and running soon — we noticed empty vehicles being run through the attraction for testing. We’ll keep you updated, so check back soon!
