Since reopening, shops at Disney Springs are doing things a lot differently to help with social distancing and new health and safety guidelines.
Not only are masks required in all shops, and shops have limited capacity, but popular shop World of Disney can require guests to join a virtual line.
Previously, guests had to check in with a Cast Member at World of Disney with their phone number to get added to a virtual list.
Guests would then receive a text when a Cast Member was ready to assist them with directions on where to go.
However, things were different today. Check-in was via a QR code: you scan the code and the following screen pops up on your phone where you enter how many people are in your party. It also tells you how many party members are ahead of you in line.
After hitting “Continue,” you’re prompted to enter your name, phone number, and email.
After hitting “Continue” again, you’re asked to check and confirm the information you previously entered. It then tells you again how many parties are ahead of you.
Then you get a text message that you’re in the line! And you’ll get another text message when a Cast Member is available to assist you. Nifty!
We also noticed these signs all over Disney Springs. In the past, guests would have to go all the way to World of Disney to sign up for the virtual queue. Now, no matter where you are, just scan the QR code and you can sign in!
This new upgrade certainly makes the process easier for Cast Members and frees them up to help guests in other ways. We approve! And if anything changes, we’ll let you know.
