Downtown Disney Construction Update
Star Wars Trading Post
A few days ago, we shared that the Star Wars Trading Post will be getting a new location designed by Disney Imagineers. Well, we were curious exactly where the new location might be so we asked a Cast Member!
We were told that, as of right now, the Trading Post might be moving “someplace bigger” but there’s not been an official announcement.
Downtown Disney Merchandise Update
Annual Passholder Magnet with Purchase
Monday, January 18th, marked the beginning of another Annual Passholder promotion. Now through February 25th, Annual Passholders can get 30% off their purchases Mondays through Thursdays! And, BONUS, they were giving away FREE Annual Passholder magnets with any purchase when we visited!
The magnet celebrates 65 years of magic at the Disneyland Resort and served as a little something extra when we were shopping. We picked ours up at Kingswell Camera Shop and we’re thinking these might be available at other locations throughout Downtown Disney as well! We’re not sure how long these magnets will be available so make your way to Downtown Disney if you’d like to snag one!

Kingswell Camera Shop
While we were shopping around Kingswell Camera Shop, we came across two new items! The first is a Lunar New Year Annual Passholder Tumbler. The tumbler has a similar design as the Lunar New Year Limited Edition Statue that we found at World of Disney but just has Mickey with the Ox.
The back of the tumbler has lots of unique details to celebrate the holiday and has ‘Passholder’ written up the cup. The tumbler is only available for Annual Passholders and costs $34.99.
And, there’s another Haunted Mansion collectable in stores! The Madame Leota Snow globe features her as the centerpiece sitting above hitch-hiking ghosts and the scared man and his dog.
The snow globe is available for $54.99.

Cat and Dog fans have been going crazy over the new Reigning Cats and Dogs Collection! And, now you can pick up some cozy sweatpants at Backlot Premiere shop!

A few days ago, we found a new Valentine’s Dooney and Bourke Collection online and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and now you can find them at Downtown Disney too! The bags feature lots of pink Disney details with Mickey and Minnie on a variety of dates. We found the satchel for $268…
…and, we also spotted the wallet for $158.
Both of these have some serious potential as a go-to park bag, or a cute way to add Disney to your daily style.
Buena Vista Street
As we were strolling store to store, we were stopped in our tracks by these insanely cute Up balloons! We’re not sure who decided this Pixar film needed a revival in merchandise but we’re not mad about it!
The balloons feature the Up house attached to another balloon of balloons! PLUS, they even light up! We found a Cast Member walking around with these near Carthay Circle for $15.
Downtown Disney Crowd Update
Disneyland has remained closed and is currently serving as Orange County, California’s first mass vaccination site. That hasn’t stopped crowds from heading to Downtown Disney to shop, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere on the holiday weekend.
Downtown Disney was busier for a weekday when we visited. Most stores had a standby queue ranging from a 30-40 minute wait. This likely due to the holiday weekend and this week marks the beginning of the Annual Passholder discount.
And there you have it! TONS of new merch, a busy day, and some awesome Annual Passholder goodies! Isn’t Downtown Disney a delight?!
