One of the most underrated and special experiences you can do at Disney World is to send mail directly from the Magic Kingdom by dropping it into one of the mailboxes there!

You remember actual mail, right? We thought Disney might have forgotten about it, though, because in December, the mailboxes at Magic Kingdom disappeared. A Cast Member even confirmed they had officially been taken away.

Granted, we’re used to things constantly changing at Disney World (which is always under construction with things being repainted, removed, etc.). But this one hurt us in our nostalgic feels! However, today gave us great joy because when we walked down Main Street, U.S.A., lo and behold, the mailboxes were back!

It’s unclear why Disney removed the mailboxes in the first place, or why they’re back, but you won’t hear us complaining! It’s time to go buy a postcard and scribble “wish you were here” on it!

The sign on the mailbox says that mail is collected from here daily “by Walt Disney World Cast Members for entry into the United States Mails ar Orlando, Florida.” Maybe we’re just a little old-fashioned, but so is Main Street, U.S.A., and these mailboxes fit right in. We’re happy to see them back!
