Disney’s newest movie, Raya and the Last Dragon, is releasing March 5th!
To get us excited for the film, Disney’s brought themed snacks, merchandise, and more to the parks. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom in particular, it seems like this movie is EVERYWHERE. We even tried a treat with a character’s face on it! But there’s still more new experiences to discover.
First of all, there’s a Raya-inspired sand sculpture with 40 TONS of sand! This giant is on the Discovery Island Stage for all to gawk at (and enjoy).
We’ve been keeping an eye on this project from the very beginning, and it’s finally finished! It took a team of 2 artists over 24 hours to build and carve this display from scratch. That’s some MAJOR dedication.
The sculpture features Raya, Tuk Tuk, Sisu the last dragon and the Ongi in the fantasy world of Kumandra. We can’t wait to meet all these new characters when the movie releases!
The second new experience is over at the Conservation Station! At The Animation Experience, guests now have the opportunity to draw some new characters from Raya and the Last Dragon. One of those characters is Tuk Tuk, Raya’s part-pill bug, part-pug companion!
Shows run throughout the day, with the first at 10AM and the last at 4:45PM. During the show, you’ll also  get a behind-the-scenes peek at the inspiration for Tuk Tuk as shared by Kelly Marie Tran (voice of Raya) and Awkwafina (voice of Sisu).
As March 5th gets closer, we’ll keep an eye out for everything Raya and the Last Dragon! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates.
