UPDATE: The following day, May 21st, Rise of the Resistance was up and running as usual.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the newest rides in Disney World, but it can also be one of the toughest to get on.

To get on Rise of the Resistance, you’ll need to join a boarding group which can be difficult enough on its own. But, aside from getting a Boarding Group, technical issues and other problems can arise (just as they do with any other Disney ride) that cause Rise of the Resistance to close temporarily. And it looks like today is one of those days, as Rise of the Resistance is temporarily closed in Disney World.

When we checked the “Join Boarding Group” section of our My Disney Experience app today around 1:10PM ET, we got a message from Disney. The message indicates that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is unavailable today and that the ride will not be able to board any recruits.

The ride also appears as “temporarily unavailable” in the My Disney Experience app.

So, it seems Rise of the Resistance will be unavailable today in Disney World. Disney has not shared what caused them to close the ride today, but we’ll keep an eye out for more information and let you know what we find.
