Disney has been making quite a few changes to its health and safety measures recently.
Masks are no longer required outdoors, temperature checks have been removed, and park capacity is increasing. Social distancing is also being reduced — and we’ve already seen proof of that around property. On our recent trips to the parks, we’ve seen social distancing markers being removed in quite a few places.
You’ll first notice this change at the Transportation and Ticket Center, if you choose to take the monorail to Magic Kingdom. Previously, social distancing markers lined the ramp up to the monorail platform…
…but now, they’re gone.
However, you will still see numbers in the loading areas that correspond to how you’ll social distance once onboard.
If you choose to take the ferry boat to Magic Kingdom instead, social distancing markers have been removed until you cross under the “Ferry Boat” archway, but are still in place after.
If you’ve hopped on the ferry itself in the past few weeks, you may remember dots indicating where you and your travel party should stand to ensure social distancing.
Now, all of those dots have been removed.
You can see where distancing markers have been stripped off of the benches.
Social distancing markers have also been removed from the entrance going into Magic Kingdom…

…and they’re gone from the entrance going into EPCOT.

In the parks themselves, social distancing markers are being removed in “overflow” queues. For example, the bridge near Splash Mountain no longer has tape down on it…
…while it did before.
However, once you go into the “official” queue, those markers remain.
Lastly, select shows have been reducing social distancing. Muppet Vision 3D previously spaced guests out with 1 row in between them, but that has changed to 1 seat.

Normalcy = YEAH. SLOWLY but surely.
I actually prefer the distancing markers in queue lines. It is pleasant to not get kicked in the legs, feet stepped on, backed into, bumped with oversized backpacks, etc. while waiting in line.
I thought social distancing was going to be one of those things that was permanently kept. That, or temperature checks. Glad to see Park Passes are on the go ahead for the future, though.
Hoo ray for progress
I agree with Todd. I totally appreciated having people kept a decent distance away while waiting in line. Even with the markers some still encroached on your space.
