National Geographic is having a virtual-run science “camp” for kids!
In the virtual series, your kids can watch videos about scientific topics, solve puzzles, try experiments, and more!
National Geographic Live Explorer Academy Adventures is starting soon! It’s a series of streaming videos in which actual explorers from National Geographic teach kids about a variety of scientific topics! Each week, there’s a new topic to explore. Kids watch the 45-minute videos each day and then try the experiments, code-cracking, and puzzle-solving activities that go along with the day’s topic!
Here’s a list of the topics each week:
Week 1 – Rainforests
Week 2 – Creepy Crawlies
Week 3 – Ocean
Week 4 – Ancient Civilizations
Week 5 – Mammals
Week 6 – Mad Science
Week 7 – Outer Space
Week 8 – Dinosaurs
Week 9 – Weird Animals
Week 10 – Cultural Connections
Week 11 – Your World
Each day of the week has about 2 hours of videos and activities for your kids to try!
To sign up, you can register with National Geographic online. For registration, you can purchase any upcoming week’s material or the material from a previously released week before September 3, 2021. Your child can view material from any purchased week from the time of the release until December 31, 2021. Each week costs about $99, but there are options to bundle and save a bit on the individual weeks! If your child is a budding explorer, this is a great chance for them to learn from other scientists and make great use of their summer vacation!
