Cirque du Soleil and Disney’s partnership has lasted for over two decades!
Cirque du Soleil was supposed to debut a brand new show, Drawn to Life, at Disney Springs in Spring of 2020, but the show was put on hold indefinitely due to the pandemic. But now, we have big news about the new show!
Disney says Drawn to Life will debut at Disney Springs on November 18th, 2021! The new show combines Disney animation with the truly unique and stunning acrobatic performance of Cirque du Soleil.
Tickets will go on sale on August 20th, but if you’re a Cirque Club Member, you can go ahead and buy tickets right now (it’s free to become a member). We have been having issues trying to buy tickets with our membership online, but we were able to purchase tickets over the phone at 1-877-924-7783.
Annual Passholders can also purchase tickets right now on Cirque du Soleil’s website.
Additionally, D23 Gold Members can purchase tickets for Cirque du Soleil right now (through August 19th), before they go on sale to the general public. D23 Gold Members also have the exclusive chance to purchase tickets for one of the first performances of the show on opening weekend — November 19th at 5:30PM.
In the past, Cirque du Soleil CEO Daniel Lamarre expressed hope for Cirque du Soleil’s full comeback following major financial setbacks last year. The company has rehired 95% of its employee and has started hiring more employees in the Orlando area.
The new show follows Julie, the daughter of an animator who goes on a journey to finish her late father’s final animation. Guided by a magic pencil, she travels through her Disney childhood memories and takes us all through a nostalgia trip!
The show is about the love between a father and a daughter and draws inspiration from Disney’s 100-year heritage of animation. Drawn to Life is family-friendly and brings timeless Disney stories and characters to life through the use of innovative design, acrobatic performances, choreography, musical scores, brand-new animation created by Disney Animation artists, and some extra touches of Disney magic.
The show is a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Imagineering. It will take place on the West Side of Disney Springs in the iconic “tent” theater where the past Cirque shows have been! The last show in the tent, La Nouba, ran for 19 years.
