Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration kicks off this week!
While the official start of the festivities isn’t until October 1st, we’ve already seen special things around the parks, like banners, signs, and merchandise. Two of the 50th anniversary collections have been released in Disney World, and it looks like we’re about to get another one soon!
Main Street Cinema at Magic Kingdom is setting up for the next 50th anniversary merchandise line — the Vault Collection!
The Vault Collection will be inspired by the Disney merchandise from when the park first opened in 1971. It will feature retro-themed treasures right out of The Walt Disney Archives!
Main Street Cinema has received a retro-inspired overlay for the collection. We learned recently that the overlay will have vintage photos, colors, and details including photo-worthy backdrops and props inspired by attractions from Walt Disney World Resort history.
We spotted some retro photos already on display, like this one of Orange Bird (that’s a little creepy, honestly).
There is also this picture of Roy Disney with Pluto, Goofy, and Mickey sitting in Magic Kingdom!
We don’t have an official date for the debut of the Vault Collection, but as this display has gone up, we’re hoping it will be soon!
We’ll let you know as soon as the new collection is released, so stay tuned to DFB for updates!
