Disney World’s 50th anniversary may not be here just yet, but many things for the celebration are!
We’ve already seen character statues go up, Cinderella Castle get a makeover, and a stage be built in the middle of Magic Kingdom. Another thing available now is 50th anniversary merchandise! Several collections were announced for the anniversary, and 2 of them have already made their debut in Disney World. And, we just found out exciting new details about the next merchandise collection coming to Disney World for the 50th anniversary!
The Vault Collection celebrates the retro-themed treasures that are right out of The Walt Disney Archives.
And Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs will receive a special overlay inspired by the Vault Collection that will “take you back to 1971 the moment you walk through the doors” according to Disney!
It will be a museum-like display that will invite shoppers to learn about original Walt Disney World Resort attractions and hotels. Guests will be able to experience photo opportunities with vintage props including carousel horses from the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, replicas of the Orange Bird and the Tiki sculptures, as well as many more props and displays that tell stories from years past.
At Magic Kingdom, Main Street Cinema will get a retro-inspired overlay themed to the Vault Collection as well! It will have vintage photos, colors, and details including photo-worthy backdrops and props inspired by attractions from Walt Disney World Resort history.
We haven’t gotten an official date for when these displays and merchandise will be available, but we’ll keep you updated when we find out! So, stay tuned to DFB for the latest news.
