Destination D23 is happening this weekend at Disney World!
It’s a fan event where we usually get a ton of exciting news and announcements about what’s next for the Walt Disney Company. Yesterday, we saw some cool stuff from the Disney Archives and got a look at exclusive merchandise, but all the big news is happening this morning. And, we have exciting news about some entertainment returning to Disney World!
It was just announced at Destination D23 that Disney World will be getting an updated castle stage show at Magic Kingdom!!
The castle stage show hasn’t been at the park since Disney World shut down in 2020 for the global pandemic. We did see the return of a stage show for the Disney Very Merriest After Hours event, but nothing during regular park hours!
The stage show at Cinderella Castle was Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire before the shutdown, which is what the image shown at D23 looked like, so we’re excited to see what updates have been made to it!
We’ll keep you updated when we find out more about when the show will return, so stay tuned to DFB for news!

We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney World to attend Destination D23. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink.

Oh good! It really felt like something was missing the way there was nothing there this past year. Though I’ll mourn the lack of Frozen there if they change it- Elsa still draws in the kids!
