Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is being built as we speak, and now we have MORE details about this brand-new hotel!
Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction
Lakeshore Lodge is located in the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We have been keeping a close eye on the construction progress, but Disney recently announced that this Disney Vacation Club Resort will officially open in summer 2027!
Something wicked is coming to Magic Kingdom, and we simply cannot wait, so when Disney shared a new look at the inspiration for this land, we took our seats quickly to learn a thing or two.

At D23 in 2024, Disney FINALLY announced the expansion that fans have been waiting for: a land dedicated entirely to the Disney Villains. We’ve already seen concept art for the land, and we know a little bit about what it will offer. There will be new dining and shopping available, as well as TWO major attractions in the space. It seriously looks incredible from the artwork! But recently, we got a better look at what will inspire this new area.

We’re LIVE at this year’s Destination D23 in Disney World, and a major Disney castle question was just answered! (FINALLY!)

Destination D23 is the ultimate Disney fan weekend in 2025, and is being held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort from August 29th through the 31st. During the expo, we’ve gotten to learn about upcoming projects, hear from special guest speakers, and even get some insight into Disney history. In fact, a secret was revealed about a previous (and controversial) castle change!
Disneyland history is one of those things that we could learn about forever and ever because there are so many stories about Disneyland’s development and early days that we still haven’t completely heard.

Sure, we know about how Walt dreamed up Disneyland when he was watching his children ride a carousel. We’ve also paid tribute to his apartment that still sits above the Main Street Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A. (and where a light is always kept on for him). We’ve watched ALL the documentaries on Disney+, including The Imagineering Story. Well, the woman behind The Imagineering Story is giving us a brand-new Disneyland documentary, Disneyland Handcrafted.

The Disney Destiny will set sail later this year (November 20th, to be exact!) and the ship will feature a Heroes and Villains theme never seen before. We knew about some of the Villains we’d see on the ship, but now Disney has just confirmed some more details about what exactly we’ll be able to experience with them on board!

So we’ve already been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World and Oogie Boogie Bash in Disneyland, but Disney’s busy season is JUST getting started.
