When we were at Oogie Boogie Bash this weekend, we were on the Oogie Boogie Treat Trail when we heard someone absolutely scream, “I LOVE THAT BURLAP MAN!” It made us die of laughter while trying to record our YouTube video. But it got our team thinking: what other funny things have we heard at Disney this week?

However, for every astounding true story, there are myths and legends that, despite being oft-repeated, have no truth to them. Some of these fabricated stories have taken a life of their own — to the point that some folks take them as fact. We polled our readers and members of the DFB team to get their takes on what myths they or others have believed for way too long… and we’re setting the record straight.
Pirates of the Caribbean has been one of Walt Disney World’s most popular rides for the last five decades, becoming an intrinsic part of the Magic Kingdom for millions of guests, and defining the Disney experience for many who’ve never even been to the park.

Which makes it all the more surprising that the ride was never supposed to be built at Walt Disney World at all.
There are so many Disney World essentials that we pack for our park days. We need things like our perfect water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and more to ensure that our day is comfortable and fun!

At the 2025 D23 Ultimate Fan Event, Disney made a surprise announcement that major changes were coming to the iconic Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom. A Walt Disney animatronic — similar to the one that debuted at Disneyland earlier this year — will now be part of the attraction’s pre-show, and the entire presentation will be updated, likely with a new finale.
There’s a “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” coming to the Magic Kingdom…

At the 2025 Destination D23 event, Disney shocked the fanbase with a somewhat out-of-nowhere announcement that one of the Magic Kingdom’s most legendary shows – and one of my all-time favorites over 30 years of visiting Disney theme parks – the Carousel of Progress is getting a massive refurbishment.
