Now that we’re about a month into 2022, it’s finally starting to sink in that Disney’s Magical Express service is really gone. In its place, there are several transportation options that will take guests to and from the airport (for a price!). But as more time passes, we’ve started seeing more new transportation options appear around Orlando, including a new bus shuttle service that will compete with Mears Connect called The Sunshine Flyer!

Gone but not forgotten🥲
Think of The Sunshine Flyer like the old Magical Express buses, but with a little bit of a 🚂railroad🚂 flair! After a few weeks of anticipation, The Sunshine Flyer is up and running.
The Sunshine Flyer offers a special themed bus experience, taking guests from the Orlando International Airport to their Disney World hotels (and back, of course).

These busses are filled with vintage train details and are designed to look like old-fashioned passenger train cars. Even the drivers are dressed to the part!

Just like the other charter buses, these offer USB chargers and a small bathroom. The pricing is pretty similar to Mears Connect; tickets are $17 per adult and $12.50 per child for a one-way trip, and round trip tickets are $34 for adults and $25 per child. Kids under 2 ride free.

Today is the first day of operation for Sunshine Flyer. If you’re traveling with The Sunshine Flyer, you can find their buses in the Main Terminal Building at the Orlando International Airport on Terminal B. (You’ll need to head down to level one to find them.) We spotted one of these whimsical buses transporting guests around Disney World. If you see a bus that looks like a train, just know that it’s the Sunshine Flyer!

It’s always nice to have options, so we’re happy to see another transportation company come in with new buses!

Would love to hear transportation options from Stanford Airport
We booked Sunshine Flyer for our trip in 2 weeks. 🙂
We used Happy Limo as I am in a wheelchair. We were more than pleased with the service.
Would love to hear comparisons between the two guest transport companies so we can decide which one to use!!
This is great for Disney. Disney no longer has to pay for customers (formally “Guest”) to be transported to the resorts and even better, Mears and Sunshine have to pay Disney to come on the property..somewhat like a licensing fee. These are business people!
The Sunshine Flyer was awful! Nothing promised was delivered. No theming on the driver and no video entertainment. Driver did not communicate ETA or how many stops and they left us only 20 minutes to get to our flight.
