To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
Changes in the situation with COVID-19 have impacted the Disney parks in many ways, with updates to face mask requirements, adjustments to dining, and more.
We’ve recently seen face mask mandates suspended for many sailings on the Disney Cruise Line, and traditional character meet and greets may return to the parks soon. Now, another Disney resort is facing a big change in its health and safety measures.
Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, is a popular destination for Disney fans looking for a change in pace from the theme parks. It’s a relaxing hotel with a large spa and other activities for guests.
This resort recently updated language on their website to reflect a major change coming to the State of Hawaii’s health and safety measures. Beginning on March 26th, 2022, the Safe Travels program in Hawaii will end. Starting on that day, “there will be no COVID-related travel requirements for arriving domestic guests,” according to the Safe Travels website.
Note that this change applies to domestic guests ONLY. Aulani notes that “international guests must continue to follow the travel requirements put in place by the federal government.”
From now through March 25th, 2022, domestic travelers will still be required to complete a 5-day self-quarantine unless they bypass this quarantine by submitting proof of vaccination. Records of vaccination must be uploaded to the Safe Travels website, and guests must also have a hard copy with them when they arrive in Hawaii. Alternatively, travelers can take a COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours before the final leg of their trip and submit the negative test result in order to bypass quarantine.
But after March 25th, those requirements will no longer be in place. Hawaii will have no COVID-related policies for domestic travel. Keep following DFB for more of the latest Disney news.
