It takes a lot of work and planning to create all the magic that guests see when they walk into Magic Kingdom in Disney World. With so many moving parts and intricate plans involved in the shows, attractions, and other features, it’s inevitable that there will be a few bumps along the way.
Some of those bumps could be unexpected ride closures, extreme weather, a shortage of merchandise, or any other number of problems. Today, we spotted one such unexpected problem on Main Street, U.S.A., in the form of a trolley derailment!
We were in Magic Kingdom on Main Street, U.S.A., when we heard the dulcet tones of the Dapper Dans coming from nearby. This quartet can often be heard serenading guests with jazzy tunes, but today their show was interrupted by a surprising bump in the road — literally. The Main Street Trolley, which the Dapper Dans had been riding as they sang, derailed from its tracks! No one was hurt when the derailment happened.
When the derailment took place, the trolley stopped and the Dapper Dans hopped off.
Shortly after they left, the horse (who had been pulling the trolley) left the scene as well, accompanied by several Cast Members.

The evacuation happened smoothly and quickly, and it seemed clear that Cast Members had been trained on what to do in this situation.
Once the Dapper Dans and the horse had gone, several Cast Members cleared the area, instructing guests to go around the trolley.
Others inspected the issue and appear to be solving the derailment problem. When we left the scene, the Cast Members were still working on a solution for righting the derailed trolley. We’ll let you know if we see any more updates on the runaway trolley today!

Is just anyone allowed to ride the trolley or only cast members? I’ve been to MK numerous times and am not quite sure I’ve ever even seen the trolley in “action”. But, I have twisted an ankle my fair share of times on the rails. 🤣
