If Kona Cafe is your favorite restaurant in ALL of Disney World, we’ve got incredible news!
Kona Cafe closed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort back in August with no set reopening date in sight. Recently, we noticed that the Disney World website was showing available times for Kona Cafe starting November 1st, though that reopening date had not officially been announced. Now we’ve got an update!
A big thanks to our reader Joe (@schreiberjoe on Instagram) for alerting us to this. The Disney World website now officially notes that Kona Cafe will reopen on November 1st, 2022, with an “enhanced table-service experience.”
No details have been shared yet in terms of what that “enhanced table-service meal experienced” language means, but we’ll be on the lookout for details.
But what’s even better than a confirmed reopening date is that dining reservations for Kona Cafe are now available! You can now search for and get reservations for breakfast, lunch, or dinner for dates starting November 1st.
We will be very interested to see what changes, if any, are made as part of this “enhanced dining experience” and how different (if at all) the restaurant will feel.
We’ll be sure to check it out and keep you updated.

Note that other restaurants have also recently seen or will soon see some changes. Characters are back at lunch and dinner at The Crystal Palace and will soon return for breakfast. Plus, the characters have returned for breakfast at ‘Ohana.
