HUNDREDS of price increases hit Disney World earlier in 2022, but that was only the beginning.
We’ve since seen price increases impact character dining, tickets (in a sneaky way), and more. And now 2 additional experiences in Disney World will cost you MORE during your next trip.
Two popular experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge just got an increase. Let’s break down what you need to know.
Droid Depot
Looking to build your own custom droid at Droid Depot in Galaxy’s Edge? You can, but be prepared to spend more on it now.
Previously, the build-your-own droid experience at Droid Depot cost $99.99, plus tax. Now, however, the Disney World website notes that the price is $119.99, plus tax.
Savi’s Workshop (Handbuild Lightsabers)
If you’re more of a lightsaber person, be prepared to spend more on that too. At Savi’s Workshop, you can build your own custom lightsaber. The experience used to be $199.99, and that increased to $219.99 back in April of 2021. But now things have changed again.
The Disney World website now notes that the price for this build-your-own lightsaber experience is $249.99. This still includes the lightsaber and carrying case.
Keep in mind that Disney does explicitly note that the prices for these experiences are subject to restrictions or change. Be sure to check for the latest updates ahead of your trip.

A week ago I made 2 reservations for Savi and a reservation for the Droid Depot for when we go in December. I had a hard time justifying the prices when I was initially making plans. Jumping up the additional costs ($80 total) has me thinking that they are not worth it for my family; It was more for the experience (we don’t need an even more expensive items collecting dust in a closet once we return home). I would save $620 get more use from a $20 Disney mug.

SO glad that I made my saber and droid back it the original prices. My daughter has been saving up to build a droid, so now I get to have an “inflation” talk with an 8-year-old.

When I was at Disneyland a month ago. The $220 to build a light saber was out of my price range. Definitely wouldn’t do it for $250. Disney is pricing them selves out of business.
