Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is FINALLY going to reopen soon! It’s been closed for almost all of 2022, and in the meantime, Typhoon Lagoon (Disney World’s other water park) has been welcoming guests. However, that’s about to change.
Blizzard Beach is going to reopen on November 13th of this year with some new Frozen-inspired decorations and treats as well as some holiday offerings. Disney has announced that, once that park has reopened, Typhoon Lagoon will CLOSE for refurbishment.
On Disney World’s webpage for Typhoon Lagoon, there is now a notice that this water park will close temporarily for refurbishments after November 12th, 2022. On the same day that Blizzard Beach opens, Typhoon Lagoon will close. (We previously saw that Typhoon Lagoon wasn’t showing hours past November 12th, but now the closure has been confirmed.)
This isn’t the first time that Disney World’s water parks have swapped. Earlier this year, Blizzard Beach closed at the same time that Typhoon Lagoon reopened (on January 2nd). So although both parks have been going through refurbishments, there has usually been at least one open (aside from during the pandemic closures, of course).
Disney hasn’t announced how long Typhoon Lagoon’s closure will last. Currently, the calendar is showing that there are no times available through mid-April 2023 (as far as the calendar goes right now), but that could change in the future.
