Things near and at Disney World are changing.
Just within the past few months, we’ve shared some news about a 6-story hotel that could be built near Reedy Creek Blvd. (close to Disney World), updates about a new shopping center near Disney World (Flamingo Crossings), and more. But now we have ANOTHER update!
According to the Orlando Business Journal, the owner of some land that is near Diseny’s All-Star Resorts is starting to take steps to transform that land into a commercial development. The development could include a shopping center, new restaurants, and potentially a new hotel.
The property is about 9.2-acres in size, and its future is set to be discussed during an Osceola County pre-application development meeting on February 15th.
The landowner is Lake Wilson Enterprises LLC. A meeting request filed on their behalf indicates that the “intended development would include a six-lot commercial subdivision that would include permissions for restaurant, retail, drive-through and hotel uses.”
Things are still in their early stages here though, so a lot is subject to change. In the map below, you can see where the property is located (highlighted in yellow). It looks like it would be pretty close to another development that could turn into another new hotel near Disney World.
The new location would also be very close to a Walmart Supercenter and Ponderosa Steakhouse. As the Orlando Business Journal points out, this development could “capitalize on a trend, as commercial development near Walt Disney World Resort has been robust of late.”
Again, things are only just beginning here so we’ll have to watch and see what becomes of this space. In the meantime, if you want to learn about a new hotel that has already opened near Disney World, click here.
