Well, it finally happened — Disney World’s big 50th anniversary celebration has ended.
Now, we’re not saying it’s COMPLETELY gone from the parks (we’re still seeing 50th banners), but we have seen the disappearance of some 50th snacks (although we are grateful some of our favorites just got revamped and renamed). But there is something NEW in Magic Kingdom — a new MAP — the first one in 18 months that doesn’t have any 50th stuff on it.
Let’s take a look!
First here’s what the front of the previous map looked like. As you can see, the focus was all on the 50th anniversary.
The NEW map has removed all mentions of the 50th.

Instead, there’s a photo of Cinderella Castle on the front without the big “50” medallion.Â
It does seem like the 50th EARidescdent colors are sticking around, though. The back of the new map has details about park rules, payment options, and the Disney Vacation Club.
We also noticed that the new map no longer lists Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade, which was the 50th anniversary cavalcade.
TRON Lightcycle / Run is also listed on the new map in Tomorrowland.
The ride is also listed under “New Magic” on another page of the map. This is also where you can find the announcement about Happily Ever After returning on April 3rd.
The rest of the information on the map is basically the same, though. But it seems like the 50th map is now a collector’s item, so if you managed to grab one during your last visit, hang on to it (plus maps are nice free souvenirs). We’ll keep an eye out for other new maps throughout Disney World, too!
We’re also checking to see what else has changed today since the end of the celebration yesterday. So be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!

I wish….upon a star…that there was a way to get ahold of current Disney maps.
Copying them on an 8.5 by 11 sheet means i need a magnifying glass.
Do you know if this is available?

I’m glad they put the castle on the front of the map. Sorry to those who liked having families on the cover, but I save the maps as memorabilia and want Disney icons on it – not strangers.
Sad that Mickey’s Calvacade is no longer – I certainly hope they continue with a parade filled with all the stars of Disney. (New and especially old)
Colors are great. They are bright and exciting.
What’s with the horrible dark road signs??? They are hard to read – especially at night and they are dreary. What a waste of money!

Hi Phil! You may want to reach out to any local travel agents in your area. Sometimes they’ll have updated maps.
