Disney World food is easily our favorite thing (it is our name after all).
We’re nearly always prepping for exciting news and announcements — from new rides and hotels to the latest Disney dining news. And, when it comes to Disney dining, EPCOT is where it’s at. Disney just shared that a NEW restaurant is coming to EPCOT this summer, and we’ve got all the details!
Disney announced a brand new restaurant is coming to EPCOT this summer! Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya will be opening in the Japan Pavilion soon, and we couldn’t be more excited! Disney shared that this will be a table-service restaurant featuring a “festive dining experience in a sharable Izakaya-style.”
The menu will feature “Japanese delights like sushi and teppan items,” plus an open sushi bar and grill. Sushi fans can enjoy the Kobore Sushi, Tokyo Negi Roll, and Funamori. Not only that, but you’ll be able to enjoy Japanese Izakaya, a type of casual pub-style restaurant that puts an emphasis on drinks and conversations with friends.
Izakaya menus usually feature small dishes, and that will be the case at Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya too. Karaage Chicken, Salmon Misoyaki, and Tomato Salad with Avocado will all be on the menu once the restaurant opens. You’ll also be able to get Okonomiyaki — a Japanese savory pancake filled with shredded cabbage and bacon, topped with tangy sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.
Kobore Sushi features negi toro and nakaochi tuna elegantly paired with salmon roe and green onion, while The Tokyo Negi Roll combines green onion tempura rolled with tuna tataki and topped with jalapeno aïoli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeño. The Funamori features sushi and sashimi on a boat!
The restaurant will be located in the Japan Pavilion, on the second floor — above the Mitsukoshi Department Store. Disney has promised “stunning views of EPCOT, the World Showcase Lagoon, and, of course, fireworks!”
While we know we can expect this new spot to open this summer, Disney hasn’t shared an official opening date just yet.
While you’re waiting for this restaurant to open up, Disney just dropped a ton of new updates coming to the parks — you can check them all out at the link below. We can’t wait until Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya opens its doors and will keep you updated with more news, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

I assume this will replace the current restaurant “Tokyo Dining” on the second floor.

I was hoping it was the re-opening of Cafe Marrakesh.

Sounds good to me. Love sushi and was dismayed when the choices for sushi at Mitsukoshi restaurant were very meager.
Dan says
I was about to say, don’t they already have this? I mean, it sounds great but redundant.
