We talk a lot about what to bring to the parks. We have told you about the embarrassing items you might need on your trip. We’ve shared the items you’ll never regret putting in your park bag. Now, we’re begging you to NOT bring these things into Magic Kingdom.

Poor Walking Shoes

We are passionate about our park shoes, people. We have shared the best shoes to bring to Disney World, and that’s because you walk a lot. It’s honestly an abnormal amount of walking and standing. The last thing you should be bringing into Magic Kingdom is uncomfortable shoes.

Don’t be the person who has to hobble around all day because you insisted on wearing those brand-new sandals.

Stroller Wagons 

Did you know there are certain strollers that you cannot bring to Disney World? According to Disney, Strollers that are greater than 31″ (79 cm) in width and 52″ (132 cm) in length are prohibited. Stroller Wagons are also prohibited. Double-check before you leave for vacation that your stroller will be accepted. 

You don’t want to have to find that out at the gates. 

Toys That Appear to be Weapons

According to Disney’s website, objects or toys that appear to be firearms or weapons are not allowed. This might seem like a no-brainer, but this really comes into play around Halloween. Some kids may have a toy as a part of their costume, but it might not be allowed.

We recommend leaving that at home so that you don’t have to throw it away or take it all the way back to your car.

Costumes

Costumes may not be worn in Disney theme parks by Guests ages 14 or older UNLESS it is for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Masks are not allowed for adults and when worn by younger guests, masks may not cover the entire face.

Of course, Disneybounding is acceptable as long as it is not a full costume.

Selfie Sticks

If you still have a selfie stick lying around and you think the perfect time to bust it out is for Disney World, think again. Selfie sticks are prohibited in Disney World. When you go through security, they could be taken.

Make sure to leave yours at home. Instead, ask a PhotoPass Cast Member to snap your photo.

Metal Glasses Case

This one is to save you some annoyance. Metal glasses cases set off the security metal detector. This can become frustrating when you’re park hopping or are headed to a reservation, then suddenly you’re being stopped so they can search your bag.

We recommend ordering a fabric or plastic glasses container ahead of time to save you some hassle.

Germs

We’re kidding — kind of. If you aren’t feeling well, you should probably stay home. There are so many people at Disney World, and it can be easy to pick something up here after touching everything.

Plus, if you are sick, walking around in the heat will not help you feel better.

Unrealistic Expectations

Finally, you’ll want to leave any unrealistic expectations you have at home. You aren’t going to be able to do EVERYTHING in Magic Kingdom in one day. You probably aren’t going to be able to eat everything in one day, either. There are a lot of variables that play into how your day will go. You can’t control the weather, the wait times, or a ride closing. But you can control your expectations. Going in with a good attitude will help you have a great day.
